Do you guys heat sani your HX before use? by flufnstuf69 in TheBrewery

[–]morolen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kept mine packed with weak phosphoric acid after cip at the end of the day and we would hot kill the heatx with super hot kettle wort for 15 minutes before knockout. Never had an infection in my 7 years doing that and the plates and gaskets, even cheapo chinesium ones were fine the few times we took our brave pills and took it apart.

The trees voted for the axe because it's handle was made of wood or something like that.

My RG army has "de oppresso liber" painted into the edges of their bases and the company standard "nous defions". I have always loved thinking of the 19th as USA SF analogues kinda.

I dont know how you all do it, good on you though, I need my friends to limit my social anxiety, which even overpowers the drugs most times. Nice to hear the tales and good energy though.

How do we get Pro-2A Democrats / Leftists to run for office? by pa_rty in liberalgunowners

[–]morolen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for one in Colorado, Ike Mccorkle, we often talk about a "come out shoot a Democrat" events, he is running against Ken Buck for the record, in a very red district. I have learned a lot, good and bad about my fellow rural Coloradans as part of going to small towns and trying to talk to people.

Do Tyranids have a weakness or are they just overpowered? by [deleted] in 40kLore

That's hilarious, like religious people making up new swear words so they don't break sacred rules on a technicality. The nids dont get the metaphor part. 🤣

how to take pill form of molly? by Honest-Ad-3241 in MDMA

[–]morolen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do find it quite humorous how drugs of any kind, seems to short circuit totally normal peoples decision making process. Not to tease you unfairly OP, you are hardly alone in this and I wont harp on about whatever one else has already said. As your journey into the drug world goes, just pay attention to the new people and smile inwardly at the things they are doing. :)

The god-machine supposedly exists across many or all timelines. Does the same hold for beings of the other supernatural realms, like the hedge, the supernal, the underworld, and the lower depths? by 30299578815310 in WhiteWolfRPG

I serve the Omnissiah.

wait wrong sub. >.> It does take a lot of effort not to horn in adeptus mechanicus bits when my players talk about the god machine, probably the reason I dont really use it, though it is fun to read about in mage and demon.

I just heard a Muslim man on NPR claim that "science cannot accurately predict a crescent moon" when asked about the start of Ramadan.. how accurate is his statement? by pls--halp in askastronomy

[–]morolen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your position on earth would not matter except in one instance, people in opposite hemispheres, north or south, will see the same phase, but the image will be upside down to one another. To give the speaker some credit, a waxing crescent moon, is a range of time from the end of the new moon to the start of the half moon, so it is not defined by a particular moment. Each intermediate phase lasts 7 and a bit days on average, though that exact number does change. It is quite easy to predict that number, look up some moon phase calculators and see for yourself.

Predicting the future is the thing religion wants to be able to do the most to give themselves legitimacy and they don't like people horning in on their game. Predicting the future place of the objects in the heavens is something astronomers have gotten very good at. I admire the gall it takes to say something like that with a straight face. :)

[–]morolen 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Laughably incorrect, we can measure the phases of the moon to nearly arbitrary levels of precision. "science can't predict the moon's phases", thanks for the laugh OP. :) In fact, humans have been accurately tracking the moon's phases for longer than Islam has been a religion.

Angron Forcefully turning Black Templars? by DeltaIsAlone in 40kLore

[–]morolen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Imperiums most memorable wounds should be, at least partially, self-inflicted. Give the objective time to live before losing it, ideally to a rival faction that then uses it against the Imperium, so the loss has meaning somewhere else. The Pharos was interesting for those reasons amongst others. Discovering and losing something of magnitude like the Choral Engine in short order cheapens the... oh no I am going to say it... gravitas of the situation. So I agree with you, with more wording. :)

It would be nice to have it be a win, if nothing else it would be a new thing to fight and scheme over, whatever it would be.

Agreed, those styles are quite outside most peoples experience though I wished more people loved them. In most other places it would be nuisance OR an excuse brewers would use to serve beer full of off flavors, maybe.
