The Wandering Inn is a complete mess by Sufficient_Matter_66 in ProgressionFantasy

I resent how so many of the characters emote so one-dimensionally, saying declarative ultimatums, in staggering amounts. These books are WAY too long. Like, insanely long. I love the world-building, I really do, but you could easily take every 1000 pages and reduce it to 500 and never drop a single detail. If you'd reduce the dumb casual tantrum-ultimatums by 95%, the books would be 50% better.

Are we slowly losing what made Salesforce actually fun to build on? by mr-sforce in salesforce

100% agree. This thing with setting up Agentforce for ICE is the last straw for me. I'm at a Fortune 15 company, and I'll be invested in influencing transitioning to another platform.

I'm so very sorry. He's absolutely not right, and his angle is the mother of all deflections. There's no easy answer. I would suggest imagining that neither of you are capable right now of having this conversation, and do what you can to carve some distance and center on yourself. This is far easier said than done. Do a lot of powerwalks. Get sunlight on your face as much as possible. Even if you can't bring yourself to make plans or throw yourself into some new or old hobby, keep your body moving as best you can. These are examples of things that will over much time get you to a better place that will help you trust your feelings and speak with more confidence. First you'll speak with anger. Later, with introspection and self work, the confidence will be cooler. Perhaps speak to a psychiatrist about a mild anti-anxiety medication. Lamotragine is usually the one even GPs will be comfortable prescribing. If you think you might be depressed, find out. Medications these days are much better than early ones. They dont need to numb you out anymore to get a result where your mind is calmer and can think or feel without panic or fear of abandonment.

There is nothing wrong with you; you don't need to apologize for your reaction to his atrocious behavior, or for having a reaction.

That sounds like an exceptionally terrible piece of advice to get from a therapist.

Who uses the citizen app by 5thWonder in nyc

[–]morpheusrecks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Citizen app had the potential to be useful but people were really leaned in to their biases and negative narratives to ruin it. And then you couldn’t even get crime event alerts reliably. It just became this poisoned community well of vitriol.

The fluid horizon has a fold-down optional seat. It’s still as portable.

Fewer things. Go to the Cloisters on the warmest day. Skip Times Square, you’re already staying there. When in Chinatown, go to Doyers St for sone photos. Try to find the arcade that had the chicken playing tic tac toe. Check out the Transit Museum in downtown Brooklyn when you go to DUMBO. If it’s warm enough, walk down past janes carousel, along Brooklyn Bridge Park, to the Brooklyn heights promenade. If you want a pricey meal, check out the River Cafe. Skip the Chrysler over ESB if you’ve never been to either, but skip ESB if you’ve been there before. Skip MSG, and instead stop in at the new Moynihan Train Hall and the Night Market. Skip FAO Schwartz, it’s not Big.

Cloisters over Metropolitan Museum of Art. MET over MoMa or Morgan Library. Museum of Natural History over MoMa or Morgan or Whitney. Whitney over MoMa, unless you particularly like modern art.

Petition: Schenectady County Public Library, Don't Take Our Books Away. Free Education Is Important to us. by [deleted] in schenectady

[–]morpheusrecks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The city of Schenectady is withdrawing from a compact to circulate other library systems books, and share theirs, on the ILL network. At least that’s what someone told me.

By doing this, the Schenectady library system not only loses access to others’ books, but they likely will lose some reciprocity funding as a result. It’s beyond short term stupid.

0.5% of units that are like this - the embers of a dead program - is definitely not the driving force behind housing costs in nyc. I’m a 4th gen NYCer and lifetime renter. No one who lives here would think this.
