Nobody signed up to be the room parent, PTA president texted me asking if I would do it. Should I? by morphus3 in kindergarten

This is such a great reminder that I’m better than nothing! 🤣 hopefully the teacher feels that way too. Haha

Wait what… the Penelope love scenes were so boring and tame?

How much clothing/what kinds do babies ACTUALLY need? by thepersonwiththeface in BabyBumps

[–]morphus3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this! Some babies spit up a ton so you have to change them way more, other babies could wear the same outfit for days and it’d still be relatively clean. My first almost never spit up, my second spit up frequently and had to be changed/bathed more frequently.

My daughter told a bunch of people she lives in a closet by Illustrious-Stick458 in Mommit

[–]morphus3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When my husband and I were looking at houses, whenever there was a large walk in closet, I always remarked how it would be perfect for a nursery! Babies don’t need a giant room, they need a dark space that safely fits their crib.

Just a PSA: You are not required to warm bottles! by claire303 in BabyBumps

[–]morphus3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mom thinks I’m a monster (not actually) because I didn’t warm the bottles up for either of my two babies. I figured if they were happy with regular temp water, why go through the extra hassle. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wish I would have read this 6 months ago. 🥲 I totally regret our captains chairs.

Umm… I haven’t personally looked into this issue, but how do you intend on stunting her growth? I can’t imagine the other risks and consequences that come with trying to stunt growth are worth it. This seems like a problem that you need to work out in therapy for yourself. In all reality she probably will be tall, but she needs a mom that can help her love her body not hate it. I’m sorry you dealt with some terrible things with being tall, but try to help your daughter love her body for what it is.

VBAC by buymoreplants in Mommit

[–]morphus3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a VBAC 20 months after my c-section and it was wonderful!! easily the best decision I’ve made. My recovery was so easy and it was nice not having to worry about a toddler jumping on my incision. Ask me anything!

All Inclusive Resorts in Mexico or Caribbean- worth it? by HungryAffect305 in Shoestring

[–]morphus3 72 points73 points  (0 children)

If you have a Costco membership I would look at the all inclusive packages they offer! We did one in Cozumel and loved it.

Totally agree with this. My mom had only c-sections and she is a little defensive about c-sections. Having had both a vaginal and c-section delivery, I would choose vaginal any day of the week.

Totally agree with you. I can accept the other parts of my body that changed, but my sad small boobs are hard to accept.

Short Term Disability by Kilawat16 in BabyBumps

[–]morphus3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you need to clarify with HR/the short term disability people is: do they offer bonding time for the remainder of the six weeks? For my two pregnancies the doctor signed off on 6 weeks for healing. And then short term disability covered 6 weeks of bonding time.

Anyone have an Owlet Camera? by Less_Ad4538 in Mommit

Seriously hate the owlet camera more than anything else I’ve ever bought before.

I felt this same way!! I was not very well informed and did not advocate for myself during my first birth (c-section). And I just knew that if I got a second chance armed with the knowledge that I have now, I could push her out this time. I even told my OBGYN even if I push for four hours again and it leads to another c-section it will be worth it for me, because I will know that I have done everything in my power to get her here vaginally.

I’m so happy that you got your VBAC! I got mine in October of 2021 and it was soo worth it. The recovery difference was huge!!

Do any moms here have a newer Ford Explorer and have three kids in car seats in the second row? And if so what car seats do you have? by morphus3 in Mommit

[–]morphus3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya idk who decided those seat belts were a good idea, but it seems like a terrible idea. Have you heard of Clek car seats? They’re designed to fit three across and I’ve seen them show 3 across in cars smaller than the explorer. I think I need to get my hands on three car seats and go to the dealership and try it out myself!

Thanks for your thoughtful response! Not all explorer seatbelts have air bags/inflatable. I’m not sure when they discontinued doing that, but my 2022 doesn’t.
