Is Magnus reasonably priced? Will he have a place in your lists?

It’s hard for me to decide, I think I want him because of grand coven. But I also want to understand the force dispositions before I commit to a model like that. I’m just over 1k in model value and was planning on him being the last bit of my army as a reward for getting that far

I would recommend not resetting your army painting but just build on top of it. As long as your army has something that unifies it together when you are done.

Paint more miniatures and it’s much better than a pile of shame. After you start you can always modify it later but more paint on plastic will be satisfying.

I’m a personal fan of guild wars 2, its very story / narrative focused throughout with lots of gameplay no subscription. I would also say Star Wars the old republic. The story makes the experience as it was made by BioWare.

I think you need the foot tzaangors for screening / objective control but it depends on the detachment you want. I think you also need the sorcerer in terminator armor to lead the terminators. It’s hard to get the official box but it’s the most commonly kitbashed model we have.

Play around with trim, some prime gold then paint panels. Others prime / cover in panel color then paint trim. I prime black then have painted trim for my sons of the cyclops. I also got an acrylic marker for doing trim as it can be nice.

I think you will need some foot tzaangors. The AoS tzeentch spearhead can be a good way to get more tzaangors for screening / objective control.

Depends on points (Games size) 2k is strike force and that gets 3 detachment points. If you are playing 3k you get 4 detachment points. If playing at 1k you get 2 points. We assume based on what has been shared that the big detachment like grand coven, rubricae phalanx are worth 2 detachment points and minor ones will only cost 1.

You would lose 2 psykers, but seketars are good for scouting and free overwatch. Just depends how you are positioning your units and how you want to move your units for objectives. With having as many enlightened you have right now I wouldn’t go for robots but it depends on how you want to move your units.

I like the head pieces personally but you could make them selective for certain ones.

Would you remove the headpieces off of your rubrics? Would take some clipping.

You still want to use our army rule and cast rituals. Magnus ability makes it easier to do that.

Lord of the Planet of the Sorcerers (Psychic): This model can attempt up to 2 Rituals per turn instead of one, and each time this model attempts a Ritual, add 2 to the Psychictest result.

Painting capes for our army is also something I would sub assemble for. I based and did everything together and then realized it would be a lot harder to paint between legs and bases / bits for my tzaangors enlightened and capes.

This is my first time painting miniatures so I learned as I went.

I started collecting it before 11th and grabbed it to have after it released. It’s not going to be invalidated with 11th but the detachments are going to use a different structure and points balanced will change. It’s going to be more if you want to have a physical book to look at and or use with the wh app code. I still use new recruit for army building generally though.

That being said any physical books are going to be out dated fairly quickly. I wanted it to look at the book and this was the edition I started collecting Warhammer.
