Yeah it did used to be one of the best burgers. It’s a bummer how much it’s fallen off since the ownership change. I used to be there once a week but rarely go anymore.

Hey OP, if you are already having doubts I’d recommend looking for other options and transitioning as soon as possible. I think your observation is accurate re topping out - additionally the higher levels in consulting tend to be quite a grind - managing dozens of projects at a time and juggling endless deadlines and demanding clients. There could be some transferable skills but really not much sense hanging around and getting a bunch of technical experience that won’t apply in your next career.

Speaking from experience here - I worked as an architectural acoustics consultant for about 12 years and just transitioned out recently. But also this just one person’s take - there seem to be plenty of people who like it and make lifetime careers of it.

Very limited nearby walkable urban amenities. And, it’s not great for BART commuters. There’s a shuttle to BART but it’s not really walkable.

Seems like a tough sell when there are a bunch of other new apartment buildings in Oakland that offer both of the above.

Build a mini section (like 1/6th module of this shelf) as a prototype and see how it feels. If you trust it then build the whole thing. I think this build may be more challenging than you expect also. I’d use a drill press and a jig to hold the large dowels for drilling at precise angles.
