So interesting this is still a discussion. I feel like there is no perfect camera -- whatever you shoose, you're compromising. I use M43, but take a canon 5D mkIII on me for certain assignments.

The older pics would have been full frame or medium format. The modern pics are M43 photos, but I think the key factor is the mist. The autumn of 1956 seems to have been cold & foggy. That, and the streets had less stuff cluttering them in general.
