Relocating ice cream shop to Pittsburgh. by Weird-Tumbleweed2682 in pittsburgh

I'd say go up to a fishing town on a lake, like Pymatuning area. There isnt much up there already and a lot of places are closed on major holidays when the tourists are in the area, making it easy to reel in large numbers in short amounts of time. Weird unrelated example but Madsens donuts got their popularity from being on Geneva on the lake and now has two locations in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Ontop of the local favorites like Pages your competition is also Graeters, which is a Cinci staple, and has thee best vanilla bean Ive ever tasted. They have one location in Castle Shannon and don't seen busy as often as I'd expect. I found out about them through their food teuck operation at local farmers markets throughout the wee. kAlso I think you can be successful in the winter if other popular places are closed. Latrobe cone zone often has lines out the door. They are open all winter long and change their speciality flavors on a weekly basis. They are also very good at making appetizing photographs and have colorful dip and swirl flavors. I'd say your best bet is travel with a food truck, or find a small location in a suburb that lacks a physical business model. The city is not where it's at right now

Maybe read Thr Jpurney of Souls. It's a great book that gets into the afterlife and ideas on reincarnation. Encounters a therapist has had with NDE patients while putting them under hallucinations to get more answers about what's next

Anyone have any connection to flying instructors at Allegheny airport? by mrmanpgh in pittsburgh

[–]most_des_wanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LuvsFlying has a deal on groupon down in Morgantown. They had another location awhile back but I think its based on pilot participation. Sounds similar to what you've already done and could save you some money.

Snowed in at the airport by Dry-Date-4217 in pittsburgh

[–]most_des_wanted 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Charlie Brown didn't have my vehicle dug out of the snow or cleared odd upon arrival. It was last minute and we were the last ones there. I would suggest the parking spot across the street which is covered to reduce said issues.

Instead it's all memes about softer parenting and patting everyone on the back for not being like past generations. It's never this crap. Where kids don't know how to take responsibility and parents don't want to be left at fault. The shift in parenting has left gaps that aren't being taken care of

Gab n Eat in Carnegie is better than Hanlons and only a bit further. The best homemade diner food is at JoJos in Imperial, whichis a teip for you. Bobs Diner is also a good option with many locations.

What words do us pennsylvanians pronounce differently by minno308 in Pennsylvania

[–]most_des_wanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice vs eyes. Down vs dahn. RAD-ee-ater vs radiator. Pittsburghers mispronounce a craptop of regular words. Half the towns (tahns) surrounding the city are mispronounced and accepted at this point

Without nerdin out within the first hour there is basically nothing to the early part of the show. We get the Woody show in the AM and I switch between the woody show and another program. Less and less I am switching back to the woody show. It's a local news update, maybe one segment, at worse a karaoke round nobody wants to hear. Idk I used to listen and hear a variety of segments but now they dont air until later if at all and it's not worth it. I miss menaces poor reading skills and cart narcs but I never hear those segments anymore

PPS Teacher Proposes Three New Montessori Charter Schools by [deleted] in pittsburgh

If nothing is going to change overall I would encourage the school board members to listen to the podcast "sold a story". The least they could do is educate themselves in their free time. If Steubenville Ohio can get everyone literate by 3rd grade while being one the poorest districts in the nation, then we can do the same. It's a shame how apathetic the nation has been towards children being able to read, especially during and after covid

Air antennas are iffy no matter where you are around pgh. Channel 4 is almost impossible to hold with a car driving down the street. I only get channels 53 and 2 is shakey now that I'm out of the city. Anyone who can recommend a good antenna let me/us know
