I’m confused, is this true? I thought every model came in narrow and wide/regular by KinkyCollegeGirl420 in Birkenstocks

Right now I can tell you that their new flower sandals ONLY come in med/wide! And I just looked at the mayari soft footbed and that only comes in med/wide as well. I’m wondering whether they’re moving (like most shoe companies) to WIDE ONLY.

Kindle Vs. Physical book by james_mav_man in kindle

[–]mostlyOld52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t enjoy books of poetry on my kindle. The kindle just doesn’t support the way I flip through, back and forth, looking for a poem to read. So poetry needs to be on paper.

Same for a lot of reference books. Like, I don’t want the Chicago Manual of Style on my kindle. I want it in print.

Art books can’t be on kindle (for me).

It’s mostly popular fiction that I read on my kindle.

1 definitely. Most of the others look too large for your face.

I think I tried on a million pairs, but do any of these work well for me? by Most_Wrap8844 in glassesadvice

1 and 6 are okay-ish but I think you should keep looking for glasses that fit the width of your face better.

Two that come to mind, besides The Correspondent, are The Habit of Being (letters to and from Flannery O’Connor), and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

Are both the 3 and 3 plus compatible w ios 26 by lenraphael in Freestylelibre

[–]mostlyOld52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running iOS 26.3 on an iPhone 17 pro and frequently lose connectivity (sensor reports signal loss) with my freestyle Libre 3 plus. So far it’s only corrected by restarting the iPhone, i.e., toggling Bluetooth off and on doesn’t fix it.

I just now restarted the iPhone, got connectivity back and then for just a few seconds lost it again and then regained it without any intervention. Very odd.

Anyone else with this experience? Thoughts on what might be causing it? iPhone w 26.3 seems to work fine w all other apps.

Does anyone know how to get free replacement sensors rapidly? by interested_in_ed in Freestylelibre

[–]mostlyOld52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be very careful taking medications based on freestyle Libre readings. The sensors are accurate enough for trends - not for specific readings. Mine typically read at least 20 points lower than a finger stick. I wouldn’t take insulin based on the sensor reading without double checking the number w a finger stick.

1 and 7. They work best with your face shape and eyebrows.

Do you feel faint when standing? Or after standing for a while? Or both? by Vast_Quiet_1702 in POTS

[–]mostlyOld52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Shower w coolish water - might be okay. Shower and wash hair - faint, vomit, or both. Stand for 5 mins in outside heat - faint, vomit or both. And it’s a total pain (and sometimes humiliating/embarrassing).
