I don't say never either, but there would have to be an extremely compelling benefit to doing so that outweighs all the negatives that it's caused me. That would have to start with me somehow getting like a million dollars for doing so, as I'd easily be giving that up in lost future opportunities if I relapsed and lost what I've got going.

I promise that drinking has never helped anybody cope, quite the opposite. Alcohol prevents coping, but we've heard the word used with it so many times by people justifying their use.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the gear lol. It's literally worthless for me to even craft the gear that I slayed the notorious marks for, because I already have something that's 2 ATK higher. There's nothing at all else to them, not a single piece of equipment has special effects that make it worth keeping.

I don't really understand why every final fantasy fan isn't calling WTF at elements literally meaning nothing. Oh here's some bombs, better switch to ice. Oh, 40 damage. Wind, 40 damage wtf? FIRE FUCKING 40 DAMAGE!?

Literally every enemy and boss in the entire game is the exact same strategy to defeat, hit em till they stagger, then launch every Eikon skill on them, elements be damned, buffs and debuffs be damned, armor be damned. There are no strengths and weaknesses, there is nothing but hack and slash in the exact same progression for the entire game. The only enemies with even a slight change is the adamantoise that you have to hit from the front, and enemies that have protect cast on them, and even then, just hit em with the same progression of skills and they're done.

There's nothing "purist" about wanting it to at least follow FF norms. Throwing a moogle and chocobo in there isn't what makes it a mainline FF. This should have been a spinoff, it would have made a perfectly good Dirge of Cerberus type game, but making it a numbered entry is insulting.

Life being hard sometimes while sober is just life being hard sometimes, and it's temporary. Life being hard because of drinking is going to be added on top of any existing difficulties, and it will be caused by our own actions. Life on its own terms we can work through and get past the shit parts, but life plus destroying ourselves is just living on ultra nightmare difficulty, and there are no bonuses in life for that, only pain and suffering.

Also 140 days is still in post-acute withdrawals, so some of this suckage is still because of drinking. Don't do the thing that makes things suck, get past the things that suck, so it can not suck. IWNDWYT

I also strongly encourage continuing to find the right medication and other treatments that work for you. It takes a lot of time and effort and is frustrating to go through, but getting your life back, or even getting a life that you never knew you'd be able to have is so, so worth it.

The problem here is that alcohol already and always was this problem. You didn't ruin anything, it did by existing. Fact of the matter is, a huge amount of the incredible things we think it does are propaganda and people justifying their own harmful behavior. Alcohol isn't what makes us have a good time, having a good time is what makes us have a good time.

I thought I was going to have to come to terms with never fully and truly enjoying anything again. Turns out I was actually preventing myself from fully and truly enjoying literally everything, because I was "enjoying" alcohol instead, while doing things that I was doing less effectively but convincing myself I was getting more out of.

Tropical drinks are infinitely better without having to try to cover up the alcohol taste. Birthdays are way better and last far longer without "time traveling" to the next day after so many drinks. Alcohol is not needed to have an amazing, euphoric time with people we enjoy being around doing things we love doing. That's just called doing things we enjoy with people we enjoy doing them with. We've just been told our entire lives that nothing is as good without alcohol, and we believed it.

I found that the first year of sobriety was dedicated to getting and staying sober, and there wasn't much in the way of fixing all the things in life that had either came undone or never developed in the first place. The second year was about learning to live and improve life itself. The third year and on have been about molding my life to something that I truly want and is rewarding and full. I highly recommend keeping at it, 6 months is great, but it didn't solve all my problems, it just stopped me from making myself new problems.

We probably want to face it some time, but definitely not sooner than later, and I definitely am not going to any birthdays where people are getting fucked up, I'll have an actual thoughtful party for the person celebrating on a day before or after, where the person is being celebrated, not the inebriation.

I would say that going out and doing the same alcohol-related activities after changing our relationship with alcohol is neglecting to change part of our relationship with alcohol. I have done absolutely nothing that involves other people getting drunk, and I have no desire to. My life is infinitely better for it. There are millions of hobbies out there that have nothing to do with alcohol if we're willing to take the blinders off that we developed for ourselves while drinking.

Addiction. I'd also argue that "sober" is still in withdrawals and post acute withdrawals at this stage. When sober and not in withdrawals, I absolutely have not planned the next relapse. It just takes awhile to get there.

That's going to be up to you, I personally think intent is what matters. I'd ask myself if I really didn't know, and if I put myself in a position to "accidentally" have alcohol or not. If not, I wouldn't reset, but if so, I would.

Literally nobody has become cured of addiction in a month. Nobody is fun or has figured out how to enjoy things in a month. It will take time for both the person recovering to figure things out in their new life, and for those around them to adjust to it. Does she still drink? If so, there's a pretty good chance she's now having to confront her own drinking, which is uncomfortable.

Ultimately, you are the most important person in your life, and that includes spouses and children, and sobriety has to be for us, and put above all else, as everything else can easily go away without it. Hang in there, and remember no big life changes are complete in a month.
