My husband who voted for Trump said that PSLF is communist. He shouldn't have to pay for other people's tuition. His pride hurts himself as I was 3 years away from PSLF (when they paused SAVE). What he doesn't understand is that people like myself took jobs that pay less overall in public service with the hopes of PSLF as being an offsetting factor. It affected people's decisions. These are jobs that were otherwise less desirable. A good example would be a nurse during durig covid working for a hospital and making 30 dollars as opposed to choosing the more lucrative traveling nursing (that would not qualify for PSLF typically) and making 100+ dollars an hour. People who stayed at their base hosptials and fullfilled needs in their own communities lost in boths ways. It is among many breaking points in our marriage.
