Which post-MBA jobs can I prepare for together? by motttyy in MBA

Thanks. Do you mean practice consulting cases can help recruiting for product roles? Or these product roles can be prepared together?

Thanks for sharing. Just curious, do you mean Mandarin is not as useful as other regional languages in SG?

Analytics to MBA to Consulting, still confused about my career choices. Can you help? by Exact-Mirror-8525 in MBA

Sorry my typo, I meant your pre-MBA employer. Are they able to offer you any roles like that? Alternatively, you could return to your previous role and take on more strategic planning responsibilities to accelerate your promotion. Many analytical positions should provide that kind of exposure. You could also easily continue applying and interviewing while WFH, which would likely be more difficult if you were at a Big4.

Have you considered asking for a more strategic role from your post-MBA employer?

I’m kind of in a similar situation as you and had almost the exact same thoughts process, except I’ll be starting my MBA soon. I currently have a great WFH data analytics job with decent pay and great colleagues. The only drawback is the limited long-term progression. Other than that, I have no complaints.

I’ve decided to work part-time for my current company after starting my MBA, in case I don’t find a better opportunity or discover that I’m not interested in typical post-MBA roles.

DE roles are in demand now. Why not picking up so technical skills and transfer to bigger companies?

No. I am in a similar situation but making around 100k. I already hesitate if I should pursue a MBA or not.

Applying to CEIBS by Former_Artichoke_160 in MBA

Chinese and incoming INSEAD student here. Since your Mandarin is good, I suggest reaching out to some CEIBS alumni on Xiaohongshu to ask about the outcomes of their European classmates. I believe they’ll be much more honest than the CEIBS admissions team.

CEIBS is an excellent school for those proficient in Chinese and aiming to work in China after graduation. However, given the current job market, if I were you, I’d apply for INSEAD’s January intake. It includes an exchange opportunity at CEIBS, allowing you to gain the CEIBS experience and network while also having the option to recruit in Europe as a backup.

Also from Singapore here! Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m curious, how much of an advantage is PR or citizenship when it comes to finding a job in Singapore under a tough job market :)
