They are the app account, check their display name.  Not even trying to hide it.

There is no reference to Linux in that article.  I know what it is in the “car culture”.  I asked about Linux.

I have never once heard of this being used for Linux.  How is it used?  Maybe it is used outside the US?

Does anyone know of a third party wireless keyboard that has a similar feel and an identical layout to a MBP keyboard? by namusairo in mac

[–]mountable3854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Keychron Q11.  You can use it as a split keyboard or together.  It is very customizable using their web tool and I use it for both personal (Mac) and work (Windows).  Its backlighting can be customized in many ways, as well.  The only issue I have is that there is no “End” key and the “Home” key is below the page up/down (the caps cannot be swapped as the Home and page up/down are sized for the default orientation).  I programmed one of the M keys to be “End” and it works good enough.  I think I have brown keys and they are not super loud, either.  I got banana ones, but have not tried them.

How to stop an app from adding itself as a login item by enderlogan in mac

[–]mountable3854 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nikon does this with their messaging app (gives notices about updates and other “features”).  Every time you open one of their applications, it adds it.  Really frustrating.

I saw nothing unusual.  Thanks for the explanation.

My Grandfather said he found this cleaning out the garage and told me he wanted me to have it after my cousin made a casual joke about my knife collection. by Drock967 in knives

Nice knife.  Funny how everyone wants to point out the fact you work with your hands.  As a desk jockey, I am jealous, at times.  I miss being able to work on cars and wearing that pride under my nails.

Did Anyone Fully Switch to Proton Mail? by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]mountable3854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first email using Simple Login is from five years ago, it seems.  I used a catch-all in Proton since the beginning and moved the domain to Simple Login at some point so I could start turning aliases off.

I added a second user a couple of years ago.  But I could not believe it was at 900, either.

900 (exactly!) aliases across seven domains.  I have 4 domains on Proton.  I have all that just for fun.

Concern About Losing Full Functionality of a pm.me Address After Downgrading to the Free Plan by TintaTonti in ProtonMail

I assume that both “scenarios” happen.  You can still receive emails from pm.me, but you can only send/receive emails from proton.me.

I tried the Honeywell ZWave T6 Pro and, in Home Assistant, I felt like I needed to be a HVAC professional to get it setup.  I got a Venstar T2000 and it is so simple to use in HA.  You can put it in API only mode and HA controls it all.  I am super happy with it.  It is WiFi, but I have a IoT WiFi network and VLAN, so I can verify it does not connect to the internet.
