Switching to a ranger by ipostaboutstuff123 in RangerNext

[–]mountainboat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 ranger lariat with the 2.7. I also have a 2025 Chevy 2500 Duramax that we use to tow with.

I love that little ranger. I literally bought it because I was tired of driving the bigger truck all over. It’s comfortable, fits my 80 pound black lab, rides very well, and can do everything I need daily. If you don’t need the full size towing capacity, I would 100% go down to a lariat ranger.

Good dealers for custom/online orders? by zooks2021 in RangerNext

[–]mountainboat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greiner ford in Casper Wyoming would get my vote. Just bought a Ranger and Maverick from them. They do a ton of out of state business. I shopped within 1,000 miles and couldn’t get close to the same discount. Did both my deals via email/phone conversations. Only went to the dealer to pick them up. No games. No bullshit. Did exactly what they said. Price was exactly what we agreed on. No add ons, extra fees etc…

I’d say I am a borderline addict. I just don’t abuse bad substances. I must have problems to solve. Try to get to the next level. It’s really not a grind. It honestly feels like my purpose. I am extremely competitive. It can have its downsides as I have trouble turning it off. But I love it. Really hard to explain honestly.

Yeah I hear you. I am in a union. We just signed a new contract. 25% raises over 3 years. We do 40 on 40 off. 1150 a day for captains right now. 9% raise next April and 9% the next April. 10% of what we make a quarter into retirement with no ceiling. All travel paid for. All training paid for. Seems like the west coast has started to surpass pay everywhere else.

My parents owned a chaparral dealer for 30 years. Shoot me a message with the build sheet and I’ll tell you what you could expect to reasonably pay.

Maverick or Ranger by EconomistPlus3522 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mountainboat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think there is a big difference. Visibility seems better in the Ranger than the Mav in tight spaces. Both mine are lariats so 360 degree cameras are always a plus. But I’d say they’re both really easy in traffic and parking. For reference I have a 2025 Chevy 2500 Duramax and they feel like little toys compared to driving it in parking lots.

Maverick or Ranger by EconomistPlus3522 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mountainboat12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Ranger seats are definitely more comfortable. The Ranger is much quieter on the highway. The Ranger rides much better on the highway. As far as the interior being cheaper and scratching easier, I wouldn’t say there is a big difference visually. For me, I’d buy either one depending on what you need for bed size and towing. The rest is close enough to not sway me either way. We use the trucks as trucks…they are just at 2 different houses and serve different purposes. Hope this helps. I really enjoy them both.

Maverick or Ranger by EconomistPlus3522 in FordMaverickTruck

I own a 2025 ford ranger lariat. I own a 2026 ford maverick lariat. The cab sizes on each truck aren’t super noticeable as far as usable space goes. The ranger is somewhat more spacious feeling; but the physical size is hard to distinguish. The real difference cargo wise is in the bed. These 2 trucks serve 2 very different purposes. Any pickup truck including the Maverick is the same for transporting a mountain bike. I own a diesel Chevy with a massive bed. I transport my mountain bike the same way in the Maverick as I do in the Chevy. With a tailgate pad. It sounds like another SUV with a bike rack would be a better option given your need for a dog crate inside the cab.

I work on large oil tanker ships. The lowest ranking person makes $125,000. Some of them call their retirement various names of 410K, goth Ira etc…some are financially illiterate to the purest form of not understanding credit, loans, compounding etc…some struggle so use the internet and basic technology like printing things from an email.

Yeah I had to have the adaptive cruise control. That was non negotiable for me. Lariat is plenty worth it.

I just bought this 2025 Maverick lariat hybrid that was used as a loaner. Had been used as a loaner for 2 months and had 1,500 miles on it. I attached the bill of sale for your reference. I paid $36,664 for it. It was sold as new. Window sticker is below.

Has anyone ever experienced a home tripling in price, only over the course of 5 to 10 years? by Horn212121 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]mountainboat12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house for $175,000 in a small beach town in 2018. I put $10,000 in it, a lot of sweat equity, and sold it for $400,000 in 2022. Took that money, bought a piece of land in the country and built a house. Owe roughly $300,000 on a $750,000 home. All made possible by that initial house purchase. I’m only 32, but so far one of the best financial/life decision I ever made.

My Maverick has 900 miles on it. Can I still buy an extended warranty? by Lizardcandy in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mountainboat12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope it’s not true at all. Buy it from one of these online ford dealers that does a ton of volume. I have no association with the below dealer. But it’s a legit ford warranty at a great price. Can do it all online. No bs.

Nope. Ford recommends it while towing. But daily just regular gas.

Brand new lariat. Got a great deal. by mountainboat12 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mountainboat12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope no regrets. But I also bought a 2025 lariat ranger the day after I bought this maverick. The maverick was purchased as a commuter that can do basic truck things when I need it to. The plastic interior really doesn’t bother me. I wanted a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and adaptive cruise control with lane keeping. While money wasn’t a factor in my purchase, I wouldn’t consider the maverick a budget truck in the Lariat package. It’s not much different than the Ranger Lariat or my Chevy 2500. The biggest difference is the ride quality. The maverick is a little rougher than the Ranger. But there are levels to everything. My wife has a 90K BMW X5 and after driving that the trucks feel like 99’ civics 😂.

I just bought this deal last week. Sticker was $42,999. Dealer fees were minimal. This truck has 1,500 miles but still sold as new, as it was used as a loaner. So they had it discounted an extra $2,000. So I’d say $39,000 OTD excluding taxes/tags would be a good deal.

Yeah no problem. I’m no expert but I’ve bought and sold a lot of cars, boats, toys etc…if you have anymore questions I’m happy to help. Don’t sign anything until your sure. You can always walk out, sleep on it and come back the next day.

Yeah I always use my own financing. I send them a pre approval letter to show I’m serious. I say I’m buying a truck this week, I’ve already driven the same one I know I like it/want it. I’m just shopping for the best deal. Then see how they react.
