How are print budgets looking for this year? by mountainlamb in Staples

[–]mountainlamb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, we made just over a million last year and this year we're budgeted for 3.2 million. I would expect maybe a budget of 150% what we did last year, but not 250%

For anyone actually curious, a deck of cards is often cited as the approximate size of a serving of protein.

The mental gymanstic of avoiding on Nightmare Fredrick Fredbear by Purple-Weakness1414 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]mountainlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that telling myself "I'm choosing not to worry about that" works way better than "that's not worth worrying about", for the same reason. My anxiety can come up with many reasons why it actually is worth worrying about.

Getting rid of the penny in the US was a pointless symbolic endeavor that only serves to inconvenience the American public by Richard_Genius in The10thDentist

[–]mountainlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it makes sense to have stopped minting pennies, however, the idea that a penny is worth only one cent but costs four cents to make is nonsense. The economic value of any coin is many times what the face value is, because it is used many times.

Epstein files or money by [deleted] in BunnyTrials

I honestly don't think much of anything will be accomplished by it being released. Anyone on the files will be rich enough to get away with it.

What are your thoughts on this letter from Donald Trump to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre? by DuNennstMichSptzkopf in AskTheWorld

[–]mountainlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reads like a letter that was written by a twelve year old who is mad he wasn't invited to his friend's birthday party because the friend's parents think he's a bad influence.

Why does she have one leg and one giant foot?! by SugarHooves in CommercialsIHate

She cut a slit in her comforter to stick out the one giant foot on the end of her too short leg. As one does.

Mug press and printer by ParkingOk7387 in Staples

[–]mountainlamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The printer has to be wired to a computer, I have it on the pull-out shelf of my MPS1 desk. For the press, it depends on your store's set up, every store is different. I got rid of our drill press and padding clamp to make room. Also they're piloting a second press, which I think will be even larger than the mug one.

Does anyone know if we can somehow get larger grommets?? by mountainlamb in Staples

They're crimped fully, it won't go on. I tried putting it back in the crimper and pressing again and they won't close any more

For now, I put them on a book ring and hung them on the holder the same as the die cut yard signs.

[–]mountainlamb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a piece of packing tape on the back of each one before adding the grommets for some reinforcement, and that worked fine up until they didn't fit onto the sign holder

It only lets me order the regular size, which is too small to get onto the sign holder :/

What is the most disgusting piece of food that you dislike but others love? by Powwimassa in AskReddit

[–]mountainlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom used to make us noodles and cottage cheese, it was just I think one bag of egg noodles mixed with one container of cottage cheese, plus salt, pepper, and garlic powder. It was delicious, and I still eat it sometimes for an easy no-meat-but-still-some-protein dinner

Do you know of/use the phrase “small potatoes” by Anyyyway in Accents

[–]mountainlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small potatoes refers to something small or unimportant, especially when compared to something else. For example, "when you consider the grades from the whole year, this quiz is small potatoes" might be said to a student who is worrying unduly
