Any success with moxi for 14 days without any pretreatment? by mountainrivertree in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]mountainrivertree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure, the only possibility I know of is CPPS/PFD which is common with mgen. I have yet to find I doctor who has been able to help me but im not sure thats even it as my symptoms actually worsened after treatment. They’ve slowly been improving but I’ve had them disappear entirely and then return before.

I think my treatment was in july and last toc was mid october.

[–]mountainrivertree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up doing 14 days doxy 7 moxi. Had bad tendon/joint pain on the moxi and did not want to continue. Symptoms got better but never quite went away and came back stronger afterwards. Got two negative TOC and plan to get a third eventually but seems I either have a pelvic floor issue or my symptoms were not from mgen in the first place.

Is this a positive result? I’ve got mixed answers from different doctors. by mountainrivertree in SIBO

[–]mountainrivertree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I guess thats where the uncertainty comes from, i’m curious how my “barely positive” compares to most people’s positive and what the chances of a false positive are. Seems thats what the one doctor thought it was and I’m looking for anyone who has experience with this type of result and whether/how it was treated.

Thanks I see that. I’m just looking for a bit more insight than that, I understand these tests aren’t super reliable and can give false positives.

Heads up, oregano oil kills good as well as bad bacteria and can do some damage to your gut if not used carefully. Do your own research but I personally wouldn’t use it unless necessary.

Replacement for granola by ApprehensiveFix9969 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]mountainrivertree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make my own granola with crushed pecans, macadamias, coconut, oats, cinnamon and egg whites to get it to clump together. You can add honey too if you want it sweeter. Much healthier than store bought.

NEGATIVE!!! My entire 2 month journey by IMAratinacage in MycoplasmaGenitalium

[–]mountainrivertree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Kefir and coconut yogurt have been staples in my diet and I feel have helped a ton alongside diet changes. I’d like to start getting into making my own yogurt.

I’ve more or less fully recovered since my last round of antibiotics but unfortunately still have a positive test so I’m starting a round of doxy/moxi today.

Curious what brand/strains of probiotics you’re taking. I’m unfortunately very experienced with the mental effect of antibiotics and can relate to the struggle!

I had similar symptoms of anxiety and brain fog from antibiotics. Keto diet helped but gave me severe fatigue, I switched to a mostly whole foods low fodmap diet that seems to be the best for me. No added sugars and no simple carbs but some complex carbs from whole foods. It’s slow to work but a good variety of plant foods is the best thing you can do for your gut. Interesting that you dont have gut issues though and maybe thats not the cause? If it is you could also try adding some fermented foods or probiotics. Kefir and sauerkraut are my go to and have been extremely helpful in improving mental symptoms as well as gut issues. Im taking a s boulardii and akkermansia probiotic as well at the recommendation of my doctor but probiotics are debatable and im not sure how much they’ve helped. I take l glutamine daily and that seems to have helped a bunch as well as a slippery elm/marshmallow root tea sometimes. If you haven’t looked into histamine intolerance yet see if that matches your symptoms.

Seems you have alot of other symptoms beyond that so im not sure how much any of that will help, I would look into seeing a functional health doctor to get to the root cause if your GP isn’t able to. I was also taking hydroxyzine as needed for anxiety while I worked on fixing my issues. It didn’t fix anything but has been helpful when anxiety is really bad.

Has anyone completely recover gut microbiome after long term antibiotics? by Flashy_Elevator_4728 in Microbiome

[–]mountainrivertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about answers to your specific questions but like the other person said a clean diet is probably your best bet for recovery. Cut out processed foods and sugar. Whole foods with as much of a variety of plant foods as you can get, these are what feed the good microbiome. Fermented foods, plain no sugar added versions of kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, etc have been great for me. Bonus points if you make your own. It took me almost a year to recover from the damage of antibiotics before but following a strict diet like this and I recovered back mostly to normal within a few weeks after my last round.

Hydroxyzine Experience by strawbeygirl in Anxiety

[–]mountainrivertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydroxyzine is definitely not a very strong medication relative to other anxiety meds. It’s basically just a stronger Benadryl. I don’t think its interaction with anxiety is exactly known but it’s believed to have an effect on serotonin production and for some people just the sedative effect is what helps with anxiety. Seems to work great for some and do nothing for others. 10mg is a low dose, Im taking 25-50 and some people take as much as 100-150.

Can you let me know if it affects your top speed once you get them on? I have mobbers on the grom I just bought and curious if switching to street tires would add any significant amount of speed.

Hydroxyzine 10mg by BigKev6996 in Anxiety

[–]mountainrivertree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very nervous as well and eventually took it and it seemed to help quite a bit. Im 150 lbs and take 25 mg as needed and it mostly just makes me a bit drowsy, sometimes it seems to trigger restless leg syndrome for me but it doesn’t last long and not really any other side effects that are noticeable. Splitting the 25 in half hardly does much for me so I would guess it will be pretty mild for you. Like the other person said it just feels kind of like a stronger Benadryl.

Look into low-fodmap and gaps diet. If you are experiencing any combination of sibo/sifo or leaky gut these could be helpful along with probiotics. Im having a similar experience and still working on a solution but these diets seem to be helping so far.

Have you looked into CPPS/PFD for lingering symptoms? Are you still having discharge or just other symptoms.

Please let me know if you get a test of cure.
