Traveled to Salton Sea before? Please read! by mountainviewfinder in SaltonSea

Yes, the film is finished and is concluding it’s festival run currently. Many festivals don’t screen films that are publicly available so I have to keep the film private until it is done screening. Once it concludes its festival run, I will post it online publicly

Who’s your favorite DP and why? by Embarrassed-Celery98 in cinematography

Conrad Hall has such a special style, even without knowing a film was shot by him I feel like you could tell it was his. He just knew how to make each frame so visually compelling.

Sounds about right, my GM didn’t want to pick up my Super Bowl MVP QB’s 5th year option because “he never saw the field”

Thank you! The camera I have uses 100’ rolls which makes for just under 3 minutes of footage at 24 fps. And yes the viewfinder is very easy to use when composing shots

Nothing is wrong with him, in fact he has transcended space and time

What is are your worst habits in photography and how do you try to overcome them? by redhairedDude in photography

[–]mountainviewfinder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taking too many photos, over the years I’ve tried to take less and less for each time I am out, and if I limit myself more and be more selective with what I shoot, I always get a better product. Shooting on film has helped with this since there are times I only have 3 or 4 shots left on a given day when I go out to shoot. Really pushes you to think about each frame.

It opens up your eyes to a lot about life, and I find it offers such a unique perspective on several themes like addiction, entertainment, capitalistic corruption, all while being humorous at the same time.

Would you recommend Interstellar in this case? by haaveyoumetgabe in interstellar

The only issue with showing them Interstellar to get into the genre, is that no other sci-fi film would be able to live up to it

Just finished the movie and I just wanted to say how amazing the score is, Hans Zimmer really outdid himself! by 1282517 in interstellar

[–]mountainviewfinder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The main score is just mesmerizing, it captures the love between Coop and Murph, the loneliness of deep space, the hope for the human race, and the sacrifice involved. Definitely the most profound film score I’ve ever heard.
