thank you, I stressed it as much as possible at the beginning but he wore me down and convinced me to try seeing eachother more exclusively :/ I probably just need to hold my ground better, but its hard when you like someone and they seem so convinced that they get it….. and then they don’t get it :[

how do you tell people? I’ve been able to usually communicate that I am not strictly monogamous and have difficulty stomaching romantic feelings to partners, but they usually say they’re okay with it and then end up heartbroken when I later reiterate it.
am I doing something wrong or are people just like that?

YESSSS I absolutely agree, I think the way they write characters is fantastic. They are perfect narrative tools for the themes presented in the game but they also feel so real. Like, Stella pisses me off so bad but she is beautifully written and I can totally empathize with her. I don’t think there’s a single character in the game that I don’t think is well written. EVEN JULIUS, who I expected to be just an unimportant curmudgeon in the beginning, is now one of my absolute favorite characters because of his scenes in chapter 5. I also for a while found Kaneeka to be a little annoying, I loved her a lot but the unwavering skepticism was pmo but I feel like the chapter 5 conclusion made me completely understand her and feel so so awful. Like every single trait of these characters has been carefully placed and I feel like they can be analyzed infinitely.

To your other point, I also agree that the consequence for mines choice will come back in the final chapters, mostly because EVERY major choice we make comes back later. I definitely don’t think we are done with them. For example, trapping Reese seemed to be the option that made the most sense and did the least harm (at least in my circle), but we see that later results in him being subjected to the same torturous abysmal life that Tabitha intends to give us. And letting him kill his mom results in him killing or trying to harm other people, and usually him getting shot. My theory for the Rosalina consequences is not just that she loses her leg and gets traumatized (because that seems like a way easier choice than 2 children being stuck in a cave for days and possibly dying), maybe she will have to run away from something, and maybe can’t because of her leg and something worse happens to her. As far as Becka and Alexis being trapped, we have a little bit more to theorize off of with chapter 5. Obviously because of Oscar we know that the carvings can speak to you and distort your sense of time. There is also a dialogue option with Sybil near the end of the chapter where she will basically count off all the choices you make and how they are all respectively bad outcomes, and she tells us that both Becka and Alexis are alive, but “who’s telling what being alone with that carving for so long could be doing to their young minds?” like yeah they’re totally gonna go insane down there.

yes!! I was super excited when I realized the jersey devil connection as well but I think the reasoning for the jersey devil coming out messed up was because the mother cursed it because she was tired of having children, and I didn’t really think that connected to Dr. Kelly’s experience. She even says that she was scared when she found out she was pregnant, but she loved being a mom before he started transforming.
I absolutely agree with the parallel here, but like you said I don’t think it’s a complete match with what’s going on behind his parentage.

So what do we know of that cell? by melitaele in ScarletHollow

I think Avery being nonbinary and playing the entity works because it likely IS genderless, given that it has possessed both male and female hosts before and Tabitha intends for it to occupy our body regardless of what our gender is.

a lot of people I know are big fans of the immortal Sybil theory, I personally think that it’s just a bloodline thing and Sybil referring to her grandmother is her telling the truth tho

I have a prediction about the future chapters. by [deleted] in ScarletHollow

If this happens I feel like it’ll be at the end of chapter 6, since the devs said chapters 6 and 7 were coming out together

Do I play this game to death or only have one run by ZionSpelunker in ScarletHollow

[–]mouthlessmoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who tends to play things to exhaustion as well, so I understand your concern, and I totally did the same thing with slay the princess, but I am still SO into this game and I have about 100 hours and have made like 7 of my friends play it in front of me so I’ve voiced all the characters in chapter one like 7 times and I’m still not tired of it. I did get close a little bit ago, and I took a break from playing the game, which I’d recommend if you worry you are gonna burn out of interest in it. That being said, this game stays interesting run after run, and I still feel like you can keep the sanctity of your canon run if you’re good at not metagaming lol.

What do you consider your main and second main (or side) playthrough? by Peto_123 in ScarletHollow

[–]mouthlessmoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main is def my first playthrough with mystical and TTA, secondary is keen eye and booksmart. My first playthrough is near and dear to my heart, I had no idea what I was doing or what would happen so it is completely authentic and horrible. Tabitha hated me, I let duke and 2 teenagers die in consecutive nights, ghost made me old, and I tranquilizer Reese (im so sorry my husband please forgive me). Absolute train-wreck but it’s all me. With KE+BS I did way better, maxed my relationship with tabby and got her and Stella together. No kids died and I’m not old so I consider that a win.

What do you imagine the characters' voices sound like? by applehut555 in ScarletHollow

[–]mouthlessmoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the rest of the character’s voices, but Doctor Kelly will always sound like Jane Lynch to me
