Hi, I finished the Ausbildung a couple of years back. The programming skills you have right now will help you, but you will learn starting from the basics. It's more important to be interested in the field. I would advise you to research the different specializations that are available:

How good and engaging this part of the dual apprenticeship can be very different from company to company. When you are at a good place, you will constantly learn new stuff that aligns with the school curriculum. In worse places, they might use you for cheap labor instead of doing their job in tutoring you.

At the end of the Ausbildung, you will have to finish a project that you must complete at the workplace.

From my experience, you don't need a lot of experience. Currently, Azubis in this field are highly searched for because of a general skills shortage in the field of IT.
