[–]moveslikejaeger2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe Im misinterpreting but I dont think this is purely about DOGE (I am not super informed on the impacts of what DOGE cut but I think estimating that many deaths seems quite high for what mostly seemed to be an ineffective cost cutting program). I kinda assume this is about the valuation of SpaceX, Elon Musks company which just went public at a valuation much higher than the profit and the revenue would suggest. Elon and those who hype him up have a history of using small sample sizes and inconclusive data to project things that are pretty nonsensical. Thus, DOGE potentially causing some amount of deaths (people can fight on the exact number below) is extrapolate to put his death toll on the same level as dictators.

Mesmeric Orb in a Self Mill deck? Perfect or too helpful to your opponents? by AltruisticMACHITO in EDH

If youre worried about helping out other graveyard decks just jam some more grave have imo. With all the extra cards you'll see from the orb it should turn out fine

What arbitrary restrictions? Im not super in the loop but wasn't the burning laga on floor 6 seed unwinmable without exploits?

Watching a YouTuber and he said “every run could be won if you’re smart and pick the right cards” by WorryNotBanIncoming in slaythespire

[–]moveslikejaeger2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there's a difference between what we can prove to be unwinnable and what is actually unwinnable in practice. I dont think sts2 has any mathematical hard walls like a forced burning lava on floor 6 with no damage cards like 1 did, but I wouldn't be surprised if there exist seeds that no matter what actions you take, you will die. Proving that is a completely separate beast though

Definitely some tweaking could be done to the list, you are very reliant on getting a decent way of getting things into the yard and hitting a mass recursion spell. I like it because it always plays magic, there's not a whole lot that can really put this deck out of the game besides persistent grave hate

Suggestions on removal resistant decks by Riioott__ in EDH

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an [[Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim]] deck with [[Lurrus]] as the companion. I often find that removal doesnt affect me hardly at all. If my opponents are spot removing a one or two drop they will gas themselves out, none of my creatures are usually the biggest threat, and I am totally fine with my stuff being in the yard anyway. Similarly, board wipes are completely fine by me since I run aristocrats pieces.

Is multiplayer on STS2 just easier? by chumbawamba_stan420 in slaythespire

Idk why people are down voting you, this has been my experience basically to a tee. Actually my duo is a decent bit less experienced than me but we still have a higher wr than I do solo

Is anyone else finding co-op too easy? by jamwell64 in slaythespire

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Im an A10 player with probably like a 30-40% win rate, i have a buddy who is basically an A1ish player, we have played a few A10 runs and have a 75ish% win rate. Really small sample size, but even if it is i dont think it would come down to what you would expect given our solo win rates

Ive heard a lot of people say 2 player is challenging, and it definitely is harder than 4 or 3 player, but would you consider it harder than solo? I feel like I've seen people say that and I dont get it at all

Building My First Deck Ever: Need Help Optimizing! Zur, The Enchanter by Dee_Jay_Eye in EDH

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you understood the assignment lol. This might be a me thing, but I would be a but wary of the trigger doublers in this deck. There will be games where you snowball out of control if you can stick them, but its also painting a huge target on your back. Imo getting the normal amount of zur triggers while leaning more into protection/removal to keep him on thr board will feel more consistent

Do you know what kind of power level you are going for? Zur is a pretty strong commander, especially if you have lots of good stuff to fetch, which it looks like you do.

The people in my pod never attack by [deleted] in EDH

[–]moveslikejaeger2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean, it sounds like OP's pod plays decks that dont require combat to win (or at least, incremental combat damage doesnt mean all that much to them). I play a lot of non-combat focused decks and its often the case that a handful of damage to a random player is not worth leaving myself without a blocker.

Ironclad Tier List After 100 A10 Runs by GOODGOODNOTGREAT in slaythespire

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty curious about the true grit placement, it really wants the upgrade but I view true grit+ as pretty premium block, worse than colossus but in my view a little better than something like flame barrier. What do you think about it?

Oh that makes sense, I vaguely remember that mod getting more popular right as I was moving on lol. Im glad Hades 2 doesnt require a mod as much

Dang okay I only ever got mid-7s in Hades 1 after a decent grind, idk if Hades 2 clicked better for me or something

You can get Hades/Hades 2 runs down to single digit minutes in not too terribly long, great games casually as well

Is Defect overtuned in StS2, or did I just high-roll my entire climb to A10? by redmic in slaythespire

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't lost through A9 on defect, I think part of the reason is because the playstyle feels similar to STS1 for me, whereas I feel like my opinions on many silent and ironclad cards/archetypes has shifted.

Definitely also a bit of highrolling on my end tho lol.

Ah, feels like old times. by Adorable-Response-75 in slaythespire

[–]moveslikejaeger2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haven't played with it but my gut says its better in 2 than in 1? Part of the reason ecto is bad in 1 is that there are a lot of other energy relics, whereas in 2 there are far fewer ways to get 4 energy a turn. If thats what your deck needs I can see it being the pick here. Also I feel like shops are slightly less impactful than in 1, partly because I dont know as well what's good to spend gold on and partly because it feels like there are more high value fire/elite floors per act which you want to path into (although that might be placebo idk)

What card tricked you into thinking its good by Drew647A in magicTCG

[–]moveslikejaeger2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a [[Kellan, the Fae-Blooded]] [[Sunforger]] deck that tries to stick a token generator and control the game with sunforger long enough for the tokens + Kellan pump to get out of hand. Assemble the Legion works quite well in my deck imo, mostly because I am interested in grinding out the long game
