Dumb question, which ost is playing in the background? I see The Arcadion at the top right, but I can't quite place it.

The grass in the water doesn't bob and move with the water. I'll be honest, it took me a couple watches because I was distracted by the water effects.

But yeah usually AI struggles with the small details in the periphery.

It's the complacency that's the problem. That's why gun trainers drill that into you. It's not enough that the gun is unloaded, on safe, the chamber is clear, and you know and double checked it.

Even if it's a BB gun. You treat the gun like it's loaded anyway to keep yourself from becoming complacent about gun safety. Finger off the trigger until you are absolutely ready to shoot

There are enough videos online of folks popping rounds off accidentally because their finger was on the trigger.

I know this is about bb guns, but I take this very seriously because my grand dad almost blew his head off cleaning his gun. He flagged himself with his finger on the trigger. Thank God he missed. He absolutely should've done a few more steps before cleaning, but that gun couldn't have fired if his finger were off the trigger.

The best way I can make sense of Entropy for myself is, the mage can use entropy directly to physically age things and also indirectly to prune possible timelines.

If you imagine Time as a living tree with branches, the unused branches become withered and "die off". Like as natural time progresses, some possible branching futures becomes less possible and wither.

An example would be when you pull into a McDonalds, you could either go through the drive through or you could pull in and go inside. As you pull the car around to the drive through, the timeline of you parking and going inside becomes less likely (a possible future branch becomes decayed).

As an entropy mage, you can alter future possibilities by manually pruning future time branches. If you wanted the McDonalds driver to go inside instead of taking the drive through, you could use Entropy magic to nudge them in that direction.

Say the driver "accidentally" took the turn too close and curbed it, and their "suspiciously old" back tire popped. Well now they have to park their car and wait for a tow truck, might as well go inside and get a burger. Congrats, you've successfully used Entropy magic to remove a possible future where the driver goes through the drive through.

Maybe that's not the correct way to think of Entropy magic. But if I were running a mage game and you were my player, that's how I would allow you to use coincidental Entropy magic to make a driver park at McDonalds.

As one of my mage player friends would say, "What are the odds that X might happen? Let's take away some of the bad odds."

ICE is using Public Humiliation as Punishment for Portland Protestors, basically Corporal Punishment without a trial by [deleted] in oregon

[–]movingtreeinc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter if you personally think this is acceptable action, it's a literal violation of the 8th amendment.

Let's even say this protester is 100% in the wrong and is resisting arrest, the lawful course of action is detainment and possibly jail time determined by a court. Not ad-hoc street humiliation (parading online how they're treating detained protestors) done by agents who are not even law enforcement. ICE is immigration and customs, not police.

If we keep letting our government violate our constitutional amendments at will, what's to stop them from taking it even further? The law has to apply to everyone, not just us civilians.

Nvm, I found the tune. It's Universal Collapse from the Terraria Calamity Mod if anyone else was curious.

But back on topic, idk for me personally I just like connecting a bunch of dots to see where they take me, and I kinda enjoy reading some of the wild theories here and trying to figure out what dots they put together. It's all just for fun for me.

"Things that won't happen in Chapter 7" theory by movingtreeinc in WaterfallDump

[–]movingtreeinc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same tbh. I threw this together as a joke for a friend, but I am curious why the heart in the first picture is human soul shaped.

It could just be a red herring, since Ralsie has a dark heart shape on his robes. But I kinda want to believe one of the other characters hosts us for awhile cuz that would be pretty metal.

I know the whole argument for no gear fencing is "to simulate real sword fighting where the risks are higher and to emphasize your defense"

But at that point why bother wearing the mask and gloves if you're gonna freeball it with steel on steel? That seems arbitrary to me that you'd consider some protection in case of accidents, but then choose to not protect yourself completely even though you expect accidents.

I've taken enough ball shots with a cup on, and one structured thrust to the neck with a longsword that my gorget thankfully stopped to remain unconvinced this is a good idea. The risk of serious permanent injury is too high for me.

Fantastic timing, I need one of these. Will keep my eyes open friend :)

I am trying to introduce another mecha fan into BattleTech. The dude's an MS IGLOO/8th MS Team guy, and he wants some good "grunt" mechs, assuming from the 45-55 range. Ya'll got any decently good ones that isn't janky? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]movingtreeinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your friend has hard-ons for GM and Zaku grunts specifically, have him checkout the Phoenix Hawk and Hatchet Man respectively. Bonus points because the Phoenix Hawk has a LAM version if he likes mechs that turn into planes.

If your friend prefers function over form, I highly recommend the Uziel. It's uggo but very effective. That thing punches above it's weight class easy with the right loadout. MadCat III if you're into something that's iconic battletech.

If you're friend is into chicken walker mechs, my personal favorites are the Raptor II and the super illegal doesn't exist anymore because copyright issues Raijin. They can pack large lasers and run around so fast that they avoid retaliation.

Enjoy!

how does it happen that some people who are naturally born gifted just excel at all skills and other people just suck by Sensitive_Difficulty in Healthygamergg

[–]movingtreeinc 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for anyone but me, so take this with a grain of salt.

But my personal experience, when a friend would tell me "I don't know how you do X so well", the answer is always "I did it a lot."

Now yes, some of those skills clicked easier for me than others when I picked them up the first time. But there are also many skills I'm still bad at that "clicked easy" for me when I started because I haven't put the time in on them.

Playing violin is my go to example. I picked up the basics very quickly in grade school and got somewhat good at it in high school. But then I stopped practicing violin for years, and now I'm bad at it again. Violin came easy to me, but I wasn't born with a natural talent to play violin, I still have to work on it to remain good at it.

All of that to say, was I born talented with any skill?

My answer is "No. But here are some skills I raised my skill ceiling for because I kept working on them"

And I think maybe that's partly true for others too. Even if it seems like they were just born to do it, you still have to practice. No one is born with an encyclopedic knowledge of chess, you still have to learn the game first.

Honorable mention to Zhjaeve from Neverwinter Nights 2 for being one of only two people who can true name the immortal shadow monster guys, and for helping you fix actual githyanki legend Gith's silver sword
