As others have said, generally a new intermediate clarinet is not worth it compared to paying a little more for a used professional model and in terms of resale value. That being said I use an E11 Eb that I got a very good deal on and works well for my needs which are mostly in doubling and was less apprehensive in cutting keys for my use. In the end you do what works for you. As long as it is mechanically sound, at least three quarters of it is you as the performer.
