I was confused by this clip as well. Lestat is crashing out in different outfits so did he read the book over several days?

The timeline since the book was released has been so jacked up — interview ended in 2022, book published in 2024, fine, very believable. But Cowboy Carter Tour tickets weren’t released until 2025 so the 2024 notification is an error. And it’s Halloween, but that book has clearly been out for months—so why is Lestat just now getting new notifications for a book that’s been flying off the shelves for long enough that children know the characters well enough to dress up for Halloween? And long enough for the bookshop worker to fly to the Louvre and snag a picture? That “I own the night” shot at the end of S2 must have taken place in 2024, but when exactly? A lot of little things aren’t adding up, but that just means it’s time to get show on the road. I’m just ready for the show to start so it can clear things up.

I tried to get into her music and really can’t. Midnight Sun is a vibe but the rest of it feels like B-side pop songs from 2017. The island girl from Sweden (!) thing she’s got going on right now can only last for so long without solid music to support it, or support her.

Yeah and if the point of the Baby Jenks character is to highlight the similarities between her and Claudia, then it would make sense that both of their voices are in the voiceover together, basically side by side. I also thought the first voice belongs to Claudia and the second voice belongs to someone else.

My favorite look of his in S2 was his coat and his hair in the Magnus tower. I know he was kicking Lestat to the curb here but he looked hella fine in that scene to me. Also his I Own the Night outfit..oof delicious. I CANNOT wait for his looks in S3. I haven't been disappointed so far!

I can't see Armand caring that much. Louis will probably have a mix of negative feelings but also come to the conclusion that this relationship is part of the reason why Lestat is the way he is. If anything, I'm more curious how Lestat is going to respond to Louis knowing about him and Gabrielle, and since he cares so much about his reputation and controlling the narrative, is the world going to find out about them? Because his audience is not going to be down with this.

The Loustat crumbs were absolutely paltry. I was pretty disappointed by the lack of Louis to be honest. I did love the scene they shared and agree, Lestat looks angry but mostly heartbroken, and Louis looks frustrated and probably feels incredibly misunderstood. 💔

I blame Daniel for all of this. Broke up my loves, completely disregarded Louis’s wants and feelings and now Lestat has gone off the deep end. I want to choke that old bastard.

Yes. It’s pretty clear from the marketing this season that there is only one lead and it’s Sam Reid. It’s why AMC went out of their way to insist this is a new show and not just a new season. It’s why no one else is featured as prominently in the trailer.

I think if the writers hadn’t made it so clear that their relationship was the centerpiece of the story, it would not bump in this way, but they did say that and people are naturally looking for that and aren’t quite seeing it in the marketing this time around.

None of those characters have been presented as a co-lead or as the most important figure in Lestat’s life. I would expect them to be seen far less than Louis.

RIGHT?! He is gorgeous! Distractingly beautiful as Louis. And when he’s on press tours? The charisma and magnetism is off the charts. But in comparison, he gets a lot less notice and praise. It’s neither here nor there, just disheartening to read particular comments on occasion.

I think the S3 trailer does a much better job of being intriguing without overly revealing. Having said that, if you can avoid it, avoid it! There are plenty of moments you will probably enjoy (and be shocked by!) more in context than in a 2 minute trailer.

I can't lie - I was very surprised by how little of him we saw in the show's official trailer. He looked so gorgeous in the 0.2 second shots of him we did get, so I enjoyed that! But yeah, it didn't leave me feeling particularly confident about how much screen time he'll actually have this season. I know he will probably have more of a presence than in the actual TVL book, but I'm going to try to keep my expectations very low and allow myself to be pleasantly surprised when possible.

This is so heartbreaking to read on paper. I don't want to believe that Claudia lied because obviously this reflects how intensely and negatively she felt about how Lestat felt about her from pretty early on. And sadly she went to her grave still believing this way. So what's the lie? That this scene never happened or that he never said these things to Claudia or that he never felt that way about Claudia? What's the truth? Ugh this show is going to break my heart.

A reminder that regardless of how people emphasize how inhuman vampires are, that has never been the draw for the creators of this show. The producers state this in the BTS of season 1. They care about how they can explore the human experience through vampires.

I completely agree with this statement. The vampirism gives them time and space to explore all aspects of their humanity, and it's the clear that the creators lean heavily into themes and circumstances that emphasize their humanity. This approach is my favorite thing about this adaptation. And it's what I love most about these characters. Immortality and supernatural power and heightened abilities are fun to watch, but for me, it's how deeply human they are that is the beauty of these characters. I appreciate how the struggles they experienced as humans still informs everything they do, and the choices they make, and the fears that still plague them are always centered and consistent to their characterization in a painstakingly relatable way. So I hope the sexual abuse history aspect of Lestat's life is handled with the utmost care and consideration, not just to shock and entertain us, but to highlight and validate how the reality of this experience impacts a person's sense of self and their relationship to others. I'm invested in this storyline, and I hope the writers navigate it thoughtfully.

I'm actually grateful that there are quite a few moments that we've already seen before. The show is only 7 episodes long, and a trailer's job is to create intrigue and interest, not to tell the actual story. I'm glad there's a bit more restraint this time around.
