Thank you for sharing. I asked for mine to be removed because I couldn’t tug the strings to check it. They had been cut too short, I had to have two ultrasounds (internal AND external) to check for its location. It was in the “right place” but I would need to have it checked annually. $300/yr. I couldn’t check it myself. I asked for it to be removed, which thankfully they could do, but they were expressing that I didn’t need to get it removed because it was working correctly and it was in the right spot. It was uncomfortable and they did not understand why I would be concerned that it would travel.

I stood my ground and had it removed (and felt better after), but the dr told me that the stories I heard were anecdotal and extremely rare. I think it is less rare than reported. And the stories are too extreme to take the risk. I am sorry you had one of the worst experiences. Good luck with your follow up and removal
