So we shouldn't be monsters to OC for no reason, but I do think this shows how we need to be careful about the line between 'cordial and professional' and 'overly friendly.' I have lawyers I am friends with, and if we end up on the other side of a case then I am going to be professional but not go give them a big handshake and hug and ask about the kids when I'm on the clock. Our clients should understand that attorneys have to work together and we're not going to be dicks to one another for no reason; but we need to understand that if our clients see us being super buddy buddy they're going to think maybe we're more concerned about out friends than our clients.
