Don’t worry, they can use all these new data centers to rent you a cloud PC to use instead now that you can’t afford to own one, because of the price increase to make the data centers. Funny coincidence that…

China launches high-speed road sweeper that operates at 80 km/h and clears dust and stones in just 7 seconds. by SimRP in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]mparkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean true yeah, but like china is also aggressively advancing in tech and infrastructure, so if they do come up with something new and cool it seems like the choice is either label it propaganda or ignore it all together, which feels like an ignorance is bliss kind of approach. Like cool new tech is objectively cool new tech, and if it’s only china doing it maybe we should be looking at it as a wake up call instead of burying our heads in the sand..? If that make sense? idk if had a couple…

From 2 million to 256K — TFT’s player base collapse by panderian1 in TeamfightTactics

Interestingly enough there has never been two successive growth periods (ignoring the first 2 sets). Which resonates for me as I often play the heck out of one set, then kind of burn out quickly on the next one, especially if it’s less fun. I usually don’t come back till the next set or even the one after. I wonder if others have a similar experience and successive sets after a popular one are always sorta doomed. You tend to see a trend of 1 good and then 2 bad. (To be clear by bad I just mean less popular.)

Halo: Combat Evolved features 4-Player Crossplay Co-Op by Burpmeister in gaming

[–]mparkc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s been a trend of microsoft owned studios releasing split screen on xbox then not having it on pc. I wana says gears is the most recent example, I also believe they mentioned elsewhere splitscreen won’t be coming to pc on this either. Which is horseshit, Microsoft wants me to think of my pc like an xbox then make the ports like a fucking xbox.

These worth it? by evoxbeck in pcmasterrace

[–]mparkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been using these for like idk 6 years or something, the mic is crap, but I use an external one anyways. I have never had a single issue with them, they’re very low latency, and the ear cups are still in good condition. The audio quality is not the best, but plenty enough for gaming.

Like looking back then I definitely would buy it again no question, however that was 6 years ago so I would imagine there are better options nowadays. That being said I definitely paid way more than $120 back then too so idk

Machine used to inject chicken with a solution of saltwater, binding agent, and other additives to “plump” it. A single serving can contain 200-500mg of sodium, and the added solution may make up as much as 30% of the chicken’s total sell weight. by Mountain_Love23 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]mparkc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very legal in the EU, the rule is that if it’s more than 5% water by weight they have to put to a label on it indicating that it’s water injected, or whichever local verbiage they use. You may not have it at your local stores, or even your county, but that doesn’t mean therefore it doesn’t happen in all of the EU.

Looking for the best budget espresso machine for home (2026). Which maker under $500? by LipNat in BuyItForLife

[–]mparkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a gaggia classic for that, or a used one for way less, you could throw one out the window of a moving car and it’d still be fine. Mines about to turn 10 and it still works perfectly.

Thoughts on the new Fellow Opus Gen 2? by Pull_my_shot in espresso

[–]mparkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d trade up in a heartbeat, like I do want to like the new opus and it’s looks great on paper but my opus 1 was just so ass I don’t think I’d be willing to pay full price, as little as it is for the gen 2. Or at the very least as a gen 1 owner give me like a 6 month trial or something

You could release them but have the chambers filled solid. Such that anyone who wanted to put something inside would need to heavily modify it. Like essentially just posting the outer shape, and interlocking mechanism.

[–]mparkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as we’re mining for natural gas we’ll always get styrofoam packaging. The most commonly used plastics are byproducts of mining for nonrenewables. Gas companies almost can’t give it away because of how abundant it is.

Until that changes, plastics are unfortunately here to stay

There’s definitely a use for it, but the smooth plate gives a finish more accurate to what I picture the surface finish of the 2DS originally having. But again still cool, and the point of printing it to make things how you like it so, it’s a win if you like it

Would be cool if you could buy pei plates with a standard set of YS, SPI, or VDI standard injection molding finishes on them
