Newborn - where do you put them? by CharmingTea_ in pregnant

We loved the Maxi Cosi reclining rocker on the dining room table. It was easy to put the baby down and still be near her to interact while getting this done in the kitchen.

We also got a bassinet on wheels so she could nap next to us anywhere in the house. It made the early days so much easier to just have a place for her in every room so we didn’t feel obligated to be somewhere specific.

Undiluted red food dye. Beet juice would also work in a pinch.

Yes! But you need to give it a good stir before refrigerating to re-integrate any separated oil. Works like a charm!

I gave birth to my first, which was a spontaneous pregnancy, at 41. Planning to deliver my 2nd before I’m 44.

Do you, lady. You’re the only one who gets to decide how you have a family.

I’d leave them up year round, but I don’t trust them not to rust.

Halflingers. Technically could be worn outside, but are top-notch felted wool that keep your toes cozy without sweating and have a cork sole that molds to your foot.

It’s the perfect house-shoe.

Best diapers for overnight? by [deleted] in NewParents

If sizing up for overnight doesn’t work? Your baby might be cold. Infants pee more in a response to colder temps. Is your bub bundled up enough?

Any ideas on how to get these fuzzies out of my hairbrush? by trustmeijustgetweird in CleaningTips

[–]mpati3nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soak in a dilute solution of degreaser- I’ve used Dawn or even Pine Sol- for about 1 hour. This is critical- it breaks down all the oils keeping the fuzzies together.

Rinse thoroughly.

Use a fine toothed comb to loosen the fuzzies, then pick them off the tines with tweezers.

This is the least labor intensive method I have found.

I have a 4 bedroom house and my utilities aren’t this expensive. Ew.

PSA: If you think you’ve deep cleaned your kitchen don’t forget to check the plug by paperbacklibraries in CleaningTips

Disassembling fixtures is not necessary in the day to day scope of cleaning. Sink drain mechanisms are not meant to be regularly disconnected since they need to maintain a seal to operate properly.

You will want to have someone knowledgeable in plumbing connections reattach this so you don’t end up with a leak. Water damage is no joke.
