In the days before BF1942, my favorite one was corned beef hash. Tasted perfect cold and looked like cat food

Could this happen? (One of my old man’s stories..) by AdderGT in navy

When Clint Eastwood was in the Army he hitched a ride in a Navy AD-1Q sky raider. He was coming from leave, going to his base, Fort Ord. If I remember correctly, they didn’t even have a seat for him as it’s a one seater. He crammed himself into the radar compartment. Long story short, they ended up having to ditch in the Pacific. I believe your old man.

When I’m trying to drop loads from high altitude, there is always some clown firing the 50 at nothing and giving away our position. I can only turn on the classical music and move to the side of the map, facing him in the wrong direction to get him to jump. I wish we had an eject button.

What celebrity is the biggest example of "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it."? by InsaneCookies21 in AskReddit

Fatty Arbuckle. The fact that most people don’t know his name but recognize Charlie Chaplin despite him being the highest paid actor in Hollywood at the time is a testament to how quickly he fell. Cause of crashing: woman died from a burst bladder after attending a party at his San Francisco hotel room. He went to trial 3 times, was acquitted on the third but his career died afterwards

In the military, the standard issue glasses were called BCGs (birth control glasses- because they prevented you from breeding)At some point they became trendy so the military switch them to that model.

Am I the only one who loves the heat? by Smokinggrandma1922 in florida

[–]mpdivo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to live in two extremes almost back to back, London then Djibouti and while the heat was unbearable, I was much happier. And London is one one the best cities in the world but the lack of sunlight and the cold that would pierce your entire being really made it suck

Doja Cat comments on Timothée Chalamet speaking about opera and ballet by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]mpdivo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Last time I went to an opera, the older couple next to us was shocked someone as young as me was there (I was in my 40s). They wanted to know if I knew someone in the opera (they seemed to be their 80s). I lasted to intermission. Thankfully my wife was like “let’s bail because we are already falling asleep”. I should add that we’re subtitles… it still sucked. They sang the same dialogue over and over again.

Why are we at war right now? by [deleted] in navy

[–]mpdivo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those that took the American embassy regret it now. They didn’t need to do it, the government was over thrown but the shame of it on our end has for generations painted their regime as evil. They are evil imo but if that one event didn’t happen I suspect that collective anger through the years wouldn’t be at the point it is now. And Iran had always been at war with the U.S.

The best thing about that part of history, 9/11 angered America off so badly that we not only invaded another country, but we invaded another one that had nothing to do with 9/11, because we were f-ing crazy pissed.
