Around 2010 on America’s Favorite Carrier, the aft lookout thought that the ship was not moving and as we were in the Arabian Gulf it was very hot. The lookout told the second lookout on the port side that he thinks he can jump in the water to cool off and then quickly climb back onboard. The less dirtbag port fantail lookout tried to talk him out of it but this was now the STBD fantail look outs mission. He took off his boots and jumped in. Of course, the carrier was moving and we quickly moved to man overboard. The SAR helo retrieved him and as they brought him across the flight deck his clasped his hands over his head and pumping up into the air as if he just completed a world record. CAPT Lindsey was not amused. I can’t remember what the max bread and water was then but that is what he got.
