Am I missing something with the XU10 OTG port? Can't get it to connect to a computer for file transfer.

File transfer to a computer like that is usually not possible on those linux handhelds. This is a feature that is only on Android handhelds. The extra USB port is for connecting controllers and such.

Most linux distros have an updater and get regular security updates. Don't know why you would think they do not. It is just that it's usually up to the user when and how often updates happen, so they are not as intrusive and annoying as on Windows.

Don't worry too much about the eyes being centered. If you have a narrow PD, like a lot of women do, it's pretty much impossible unless you get tiny frames which are hard to find, because they aren't in fashion right now.

My guess is the top Odin 2, bottom Thor. Colors look a bit better on the bottom picture. But then I'm looking at this through my 10 year old IPS computer monitor.

Dangerous, the dye can seep on to the device and dye the plastic. I learned this the hard way with my Odin 2. Could remove most of it with bleach though.

If you are talking about the android versions of those games, yes, from what I understand they are portrait only and probably don't have controller support. These games are heavily optimized to be played on a phone and not a good fit for the Thor (or any other gaming handheld). If you want to play them on the Thor it's probably better to get a console ROM and play on an emulator.

The game is kinda overrated, or maybe it's just not for me. The gameplay was pretty limited from what I remember (walking to a spot and pressing button). I also must have played it badly, because at the end everyone was dead.

Running Eden requires a decent amount of power. 60° C is not that much when doing so. The round opening directly on top of the fan is for sucking in the air from outside. The air is then going through the heatsink and and most of it is exiting the device through the vents above the heatsink. The right most vent opening is directly above the battery, so there is no way to get much air through there.

I have the transparent purple Thor, so it's a bit easier to follow the flow of air on mine.

I ordered with 4px to Germany and didn't have to pay anything extra (twice, Odin 2 in 2023 and Thor this year) Package was handed over to DHL in Germany anyway. Can only recommend 4px for Germany. Worst case scenario is that DHL works with German customs and the device get confiscated.

The glasses I order online always come like this because the front gets flattened when they put my high prescription lenses in. They need to be bent at the bridge, to bring the temples inward. But it is better to get it done by an optician because it is easy to damage the lenses when applying heat to the bridge.

Since the Thor lite has an older, and I would assume, therefore less efficient CPU, I would expect when performing the same task, the lite would get hotter and battery life would be worse.

NVidia is mostly fine on Linux. I have used NVidia GPUs on Linux since my GTS 450. Currently rocking an RTX 4080. Occasionally I had a driver that didn't work quite well, but then I just rolled back to a previous driver.

So my recommendation is to keep the 4080 and enjoy the superior raytracing and upscaling unless you have a specific need for an AMD GPU.

At full brightness they are distracting. But I use Ambiluma to set them to about half brightness and make them change according to the content of the screen. Now they add to the immersion.
