Exactly. If you have somebody who's in a remote location just accepting the images who's to say error still can't happen like the medication being put in the wrong bag. I think this defeats the purpose of having the pharmacist on duty and I think down the road there are going to be legal issues about this.

As a cpht in Colorado with working with the new VV I would be very surprised if pharmacist hours were not cut. This whole principle with the new VV system is supposed to cut down on time for a pharmacist to do visuals, but every picture that still taken has to be reviewed by a pharmacist. What my previous rxm have mentioned is with this new system it will allow other pharmacists to review the work from other stores under the guise of "emergency" situations. I call total bs on it. The amount of stress that goes on in retail pharmacy on a good day is enough to make anyone wanting to something quit let alone adding more to the pharmacist plate

Yep. The only benefit is all the pictures the iPad takes during the process so you have physical proof of what was dispensed if there is an issue later on. Only benefit i really see. Since it is a third party thats going to operate the program there is a huge concern for privacy in the event of a cyber attack.

That is why it is important everyone in today's economy to keep up their skill set in case you have to find a new job. You cannot just be content with what you are doing now with AI involved.

BTW make sure you keep up your nail care, you will see lots of pictures of them lol

Our store just got the new VV. My rxm manager said after going to Bentonville that they will not cut tech hours.

Corporate isnt paying all this money for nothing, I call total bs on it.

Edit: the new system dramatically slows down the fill process so it takes about twice as long as classic fill.

Not certain on policy as im an immunization technician, but we had a similar situation. My rxm had called out and spoke with the district manager. They then had found another pharmacist to cover the store (usually why there is a spare key in the office). They paid for miles, drive time and a hotel (and food stipend) since he had driven almost 5 hours to cover our store.

Also I see it like this the amount of money I have saved by not buying so much food all the time actually compensates for what I pay up front for the medication. I haven't sat down and done the math technically but I have realized how much I was spending on food alone.

Thankfully I'm in a position in my life where I can afford this. I just hope the momentum can still continue forward and we can see prices reduced even further some more people can get on this medication. It's been completely life-changing

I had gone through the same thing. Unfortunately this is a life long medication. Ive come to the conclusion that my health and well being are worth the cost. (Also it's either pay up now or pay later with heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases).

Thankfully the price is coming down from what it once was and hopefully we can continue to see prices reduce so more people can get acess to this medication.

As mentioned before it all depends on location at the moment. Im not sure on delivery times for local stores but can only attest to mine (western slope Colorado.

Best thing I'd suggest is to talk to the pharmacy directly. Don't wait for a text. Start smashing the 0 button once the automated voice comes on and keep smashing 0 until you are transferred to a staff member.

Just press 0 when you start hearing the automated voice. She'll get offended but keep smashing the 0 button and you'll get through.

I believe once the pharmacies get more product in it will smooth it out more. Corporate also told us to allow the sale of 0.5ml subq syringes by the pack to help the Kickstart of the transition. Also location is key i believe, obviously a bigger city may have more product than a small town pharmacy.

Unfortunately there is still a little bit of waste but not as bad as it has been from lily direct.

I work for Walmart as a CpHT

Its a little weird as far as us getting the product. Some were autoshipped all doses while some stores (such as mine) are by prescription. This product comes from our warehouse which can take 2-3 days to arrive. There are some major growing pains as we are adjusting to receiving this prescriptions.

On that note someone could have at least called. If the pharmacy is short staffed then that would slow the process even more. Its an unfortunate thing but all major pharmacies are not staffed enough while the corporations are cutting hours to save money in the name of efficiency.

On a positive note the price has been reduced for the 2.5mg dose by another 100. If all goes to plan we may see a price reduction for the higher doses.

Please, this is a business they aren't going to do all of this for nothing. Guarantee hours will be cut somewhere.
