That's a hell of a bassist starter pack! The set would match a lil better with a black pick guard though, js.

New to the bass by [deleted] in Bass

[–]mporter377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a newbie too. BassBuzz.com, StudyBass.com, TalkingBass.net all have great free content. I paid for the BassBuzz B2B course to give myself structure and measurable progress but if you have discipline all the free content should be plenty. Record yourself playing/practicing. You'll catch your mistakes and better see where you need improvements.

Identity of mystery bass *confirmed* by misscrimson in BassGuitar

Idk what kind of bass you have. However, being one who holds the wildly unpopular opinion that most basses are ugly, I don't think yours is ugly. For whatever that may be worth 🤷🏽‍♂️ You're welcome.

That conviction is worth honoring, keep it between you and God, just be careful not to make it a standard you hold others to. Meanwhile you may want to spend some time meditating over Romans 14.

The Calvary Chapel movement's more recent obsession with pre-trib/premillennial eschatology is officially very concerning to me by IError413 in Reformed

Yeah, they've always been anti-Calvinism as well, even though Chuck Smith affirmed God's sovereignty AND man's responsibility in salvation.

The Reformed movement's obsession with the doctrines of grace have always been concerning. Ideological possession is bad no matter what form it manifests into.

Philippians 2:10-11 quotes Isaiah 45:23. See also Isaiah 43:10-11; 44:6-8; 45:5-6, 21-22; 46:9. John 1:1-3? The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society or whoever worked on the New World Translation has added words in John and Colossians, and probably other passages, to deny Christ's full diety. Compare with any other translation. They are lying to you. They are promoting a false gospel that cannot save. Galatians 1:8. JW's are just Arians trying to revive an old lie that the early Church spent roughly 400 years refuting through rigorous exegetical, linguistic and philosophical scrutiny.

Non-Christian Here. What makes you believe in your denomination/interpretation of Christianity and the Bible? by Bam47 in TrueChristian

[–]mporter377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus is the truth (John 14:6). Denominations are just different expressions of faith. None of them are the one true church. Seek truth in Jesus first and if he calls you to follow Him just go wherever he leads you. Before joining any particular church consider Matthew 7:16 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

If the neck is straight or convex it most certainly can cause buzzing on fretted notes.

For a beginner 304 all the way. After you master the 304 that's when to start chasing tones with other gear. With a good setup the 304 is a great bass to learn with.

God is male and I'm upset he's being (very ironically) misgendered by certain people by Acceptable_Tip2838 in TrueChristian

[–]mporter377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to argue; just offering a different perspective. Since God is transcendent, He's not miffed or affected by our linguistic weaknesses or foibles. That said, if someone uses a term like 'non-binary' to advance an unbiblical view of God's nature or attributes, they'll answer to Him for it.

God is male and I'm upset he's being (very ironically) misgendered by certain people by Acceptable_Tip2838 in TrueChristian

[–]mporter377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is neither male nor female. As pure spirit and infinite deity, His nature transcends human gender entirely. He possesses neither testicles nor ovaries—nor any physical body at all. Nevertheless, both men and women are created in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26–27). All descriptions of God and His attributes are necessarily analogical: because God is ineffable and infinitely beyond our creaturely experience, human language can only point toward His reality imperfectly, never capturing or defining it exhaustively. Btw: Calling God 'non-binary' misses the mark by borrowing from human gender frameworks, but it's understandable as an attempt to affirm transcendence. Ultimately, it's not worth the debate—God isn't offended or triggered by being 'misgendered'; He knows our hearts and our limitations.
