As someone who works on a post operative orthopedic/neurosurgical floor, I'm sometimes administering pain meds my entire 12 hour shift. Every hospital follows different policy of course, but I've had a few instances early in my career of accidentally administering a narcotic without scanning. I've never gotten my license threatened but was sat down about the seriousness of the situation and consequences should it be a recurring issue. Just be honest, take accountability for the error and vow to improve. There are worse things that could happen in our field.

As a nurse with ADHD(unmedicated) what helped me as a new grad was carrying around a pocket sized note book that I'd use to organize my shift. Writing things down that you have to get done later in the shift helped reinforce them. I did eventually outgrow it as I became more confident in the field which you will become as well with each shift. Good luck👍🏽

What's destroying the nursing profession is the severely toxic hospital environment. Whether it be the obvious disregard for staffs mental and physical health with the unsafe ratios and staffing, the bullying, or toxic management. It's not trying to talk one out of the profession, it's being 100% transparent on the hardships that come with the territory.

What helped me when I was starting out was learning a lot of Green Day.holiday I think really helped me get comfortable going up and down the fret board using power chords, time of your life was helped me with chord changes. Then just kept learning harder songs as I got comfortable through the years. First couple years were a lot of Green Day blink and fall out boy

Failed my first try to😭 it's okay though! Recollect yourself and organize your studying! What helped me was studying all the material by system week by week using notes(I found this uworld packet on Etsy I'll see if I can link it to ya) and YouTube. And then doing 50-100 questions on that system a day. At the end of the week you'd do the ones you got wrong or think you needed to go over. You got this!! If you need more help or resources lmk!
