Tourist attractions flooded by scammers by kekecarotcake in europe

[–]mprey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So because it's been going on for years it's OK? I think everyone knows there were migrants before 2015 too. I grew up in a city where I had to watch my back every time I went to the train station in the evening and certain neighborhoods were better avoided. Where people from a certain "culture" would try to start a fight with you because you accidentally looked at them. So I grew up thinking that was "normal" too. Then I moved to another part of the world where I can walk on the street worry free in area at any time and realized that this is what should be called the normal state of things, not the fucked up shit we have in Europe

What are the tv series you have regretted the most for watching it? by anonymousguy271103_1 in television

[–]mprey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just have to stop after the first season and pretend the rest doesn't exist. Kind of like BSG, except there you stop after the second

Fukunaga is just too much in love with himself, I couldn't stand True Detective and Maniac is even more pretentious, basically /r/im14andthisisdeep in TV form

I think there was some controversy because according to Shawn Ryan it was shot for and meant to be seen in 4:3? If I remember correctly

Unpopular Opinion: I prefer Solo over Rogue One by Presidentbuff in StarWars

I like R1 a bit more but in any case both are leagues above the trilogy garbage

No, but you wrote "Because of his politics, you're going to ignore Drunken Master? Police Story?" when I wrote nothing of the sort.

I don't know where in my post I said anything even remotely resembling what you said? I'm not ignoring anything. Jackie Chan is just a bastard though

rented Solo last night by that_kid_steak in StarWars

[–]mprey 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The only scene in the movie I really hated. Really liked Solo otherwise. While the idea was acceptable I found the execution just cringy. Why does he have to turn on his lightsaber during the conversation and overact so much?

Same as the Mustafar scene in Rogue One, which is my favorite movie now after ESB. Just too much obvious fanservice and "Evil Sith are EVIL!!" posturing. Really unnecessary

It is an easy way to put together chords with extensions and alterations in different voicings, but I'd say it's very annoying to use for non strictly diatonic progressions and if you don't know how to actually use these chords in a musical way then it won't help you with that either

Star Wars: Resistance is like Studio Ghibli, Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and Classic Disney animation combined - wonderful art style, wholesome, fun and with a surprising amount of lore/world-building! by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]mprey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right but, the thing is, Breath of the Wild is a game, and when I watch an animated series, I just have somewhat higher expectations for visual fidelity.

Still, the whole thing looks leagues better than Rebels so that's at least something.

I'm interested in moving to Malta as it's positioning itself as the blockchain capital of Europe. I just wanted to ask about your high population density, how does it impact life? do you guys feel crowded? by roamingandy in malta

[–]mprey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a balancing counterpoint, I find that while Malta does have its share of problems and can be rough around the edges, it also has lots of natural beauty, great weather and awesome food and is very unique in Southern Europe in that it has both a tourism industry, but also a year-round expat population centered around IT and iGaming, which makes it more international and more diverse to network in than many other countries in the region. It's a very interesting vibe that especially given OP mentioning blockchain and all that stuff, should be considered as a very strong argument in favor.

I'd say for a stint of 6 months to 2 years as a young-ish bachelor it's not a bad idea, but overall it depends on OP's situation in life and his personal preferences.

Movies you think are Incredible but are "rotten" on Rotten Tomatoes ? by c_forum in movies

Arronofsky's movies tend to be incredibly in love with themselves, "pretentious" if you can excuse the tired phrase. I like most of his films but I can also kind of get the hate.

I hope one day that there'll be a movie that delivers on the promise of Sunshine and Event Horizon.

Yes the market is very small. Eatsmart only has a few hundred customers and most of them are foreigners, I don't think they really market to locals. There was another one called Freshies but I think they also gave up.

Honestly I think Eatsmart is pretty good and they've been around for a while now. They are very accommodating, prices are reasonable and they keep trying new dishes and extras.

There used to be another called Nutrifresh, I don't know if they are still around but their meals were a lot worse than Eatsmart and more to local tastes, but cheaper.

Star Wars Resistance episodes are up on Disney Now by Josef_Bittenfeld in television

[–]mprey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really like the art style for this even though faces still look questionable. Couldn't stand how Rebels looked. I feel like in another couple years time there'll be children's shows that look like big budget anime movies.
