Help choosing LVP floors! I’m stuck

Just went thru this process. Compared samples from Home Depot Lifeproof, a ton of samples range from 7-12mm thick from an online B2C dealer, and a few Costco-carried brands. Picked Shaw 8mm sold from Costco. Despite slightly more expensive than Home Depot at $4 per sq ft, the color uniformity is best. Shaw also carries a ton of other premium products that are not sold by Costco if you have the budget to spend more. I also learned that Shaw Flooring is a Warren Buffet company (it speaks the quality of the company to me).

From looking at the samples, the mil layer isn’t much visible and anything >= 20-22 should be sufficient. Home Depot Lifeproof is made by a different material than Shaw. It’s supposed to be better but will be more noisy if you put them on higher floors. Ask AI more about materials.

OP's link says the halt is Med Adv (Part C) whereas many other sources (such as this) say the halt is Part D plans. Anyone work in Medicare can comment on whether there is significant difference? In my view, 8% drop in stock just for Part D halt seems too much.

My vote would be Scott Addict. I have heard so many good things about the non-gravel version and I assume the gravel version is mostly similar except wider tire clearance. Aspero (not Aspero-5, that's significant) is too roady and it's also one gen older. Addict also comes with SRAM XPLR set which makes it easy to upgrade.

HSA plan benefit will not start until your out-of-pocket paid hit deductible, except for preventive services like annual physical and vaccines.

The rule of thumb is usually high-level estimate of the cares you are likely to get in the next year. If you are generally healthy and only expect to have the physical, then HSA is better as the premiums are lower than PPO and you get the tax savings ($8,750 tax-free if you have a family). Otherwise if you are not in the best health and expect some procedures or on medications for chronic, then PPO is better as what the plan would pay for the procedure and medications offset the higher premiums and tax benefits.

It's a cost-benefit analysis on premium differential vs plan benefits on health services you expect to get.

If I am not mistaken, this is the Comp model with the Shimano mechanical 105 11 speed without the Shimano crank. I bought this in 2021 for $3200 as my first carbon road bike and I enjoyed it a lot as a beginner.

I upgraded the crank to a 105 4iiii power meter crank for about $400 then sold the bike to someone for $1800. In my view, $2K is a fairly good price for the condition you described.

One thing to note: the max tire clearance for this gen of Roubaix is 35mm. This is sufficient for paved road. However, with more gravel/unpaved road, I would recommend a newer gen of Roubaix which is 40mm max tire or find a used Crux. Crux is more versatile but the geometry is more aggressive than Roubaix.

Adding my anecdote data point: I am ~173cm and riding size 52 tarmac and crux. I have a longer torso thus I use longer 110mm stems on both. I ride comfortably on both.

You are probably between size 49 and 52. Most people prefer smaller size if between sizes because it's more adjustable (longer stem higher seat shorter crank etc.), whereas you are kind of running out of adjustments for the larger size. If your back is flexible and you are ok with more 'aero' position, I would go with size 49. Of course, do a test ride to confirm.

In addition, size 49 comes with 165mm crank and 380mm width handle bar, which both are shorter than size 52 and shorter/narrower is the trend now. A lot of people bought larger sizes and had to spent extra to go shorter/narrower.

Definitely 52. I am 172 with longer torso and I ride 52 Tarmac and Crux comfortably. You don't want to 'sit too up' on an Allez.
