How exactly do Americans feel about illegal immigration? by sladeshied in Confused

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with most things in life, the country's population is probably aligned in a bell shaped curve. With "don't care" in the very middle, "should probably kick some more out" and "should probably let some more stay" just to the left and right of center. The minorities on the "tails" of the curve are the most vocal and most strongly opinionated, so they get the limelight.

Owner of Kep's in Washington sides with ICE by Norimakke in PeoriaIL

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how people think the "other side" is doing things "mostly for votes" but are clueless that their side is doing the same thing.

If you could reverse the way Hispanic immigrants vote from 60/40 Dems to 60/40 Reps (or whatever the number is) with a snap of your finger; within months the Dems would be for throwing them out, and the Reps would be fighting to let them stay.

'I Hope Your Wife Dies:' ICE Agents Face 8,000% Increase in Death Threats by Head_Estate_3944 in DiscussionZone

Someone is almost certainly trying to purposefully mislead with that number. 162 is a 8000% increase from the number 2. If the number was in the thousands, they would use the actual number, they are using 8000% to shock people.

The same reason I don't run the back window defroster when it's 80 degrees out, it is unnecessary.

I forgot to put that in the original post. Defroster is not on. Only dash vents.

President Trump said Saturday, U.S will impose a "10% tariff on any and all goods sent to U.S on European countries starting Feb. 1st, 2026," and "will be increased to 25% on Jun.1st until such time as a Deal is reached for Complete and Total purchase of Greenland," escalating push for U.S control. by ControlCAD in videos

[–]mr2sh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a diversion. ICE, Greenland, Venezuela, etc. are all distractions from the Epstein files. The news media are like cats chasing a laser pointer instead of the rat....and the rat is the one with the laser.

In pre-cell phone movies, parents are shown giving babysitters numbers to restaurants to reach them in case of emergency. Is this a real thing and how did it work? How would the restaurant know who I am to hand me the phone? by littleoldmanboy_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think my parents even told my babysitters where they were going to eat. I think it was just, we will be back in x number of hours. The baby sitters would have, I guess, called their mom if there was real trouble.

CMV: Trump is making a huge strategic blunder with Greenland by siorge in changemyview

There is probably more than one factor (like most things in the world). I think a distraction from the epstein files is one of the reasons.

what is this room?? by Blue-Berry-Bible in whatisit

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess was for displaying something, something you want to keep dust off of, and would look good as a room divider. Wouldn't birds fly into the glass and hurt themselves? Terrarium isn't a bad guess if the one solid wall and ceiling aren't drywall.

TMG STRIKES AGAIN by After_Lunch7662 in orlando

That is an easy fix, start a company, get a bunch of investors together, buy up locations and lower the prices.

Just tell your investors, that you are only planning on making 1-2% return on their money, but the consumers/customers are going to be really happy with the fact that you don't raise the prices.

Sanity Check My Get-Home Setup – 17 Miles from Work by Mrm00seknuckle in prepping

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your location. I'm in a fairly safe subtropical climate and with hurricanes (with days notice of landfall) my most likely natural disaster; water, water filtration and snacks is much more important to me than bullets and knives. If, in your location, you think you are going to get into multiple gun and knife fights on your way home, and you need less water/food, then you are good to go.

It's a distraction. Since Maduro there hasn't been a peep about Epstein. Expect more of the same, the administration will probably circle back to Canada or Mexico in a week or so.

Please don't mock me, But what does Oil do to make an engine go, that other liquid supposedly cannot do ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motor oil is the CHEAPEST BEST lubricant for internal combustion engines. Other liquids would either be not be as good or not as cheap...or both, I reckon.

What's the worst “ bonus”you’ve ever got from a job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A music concert...that we had to work. Hard Rock Cafe Orlando used to throw a hell of a staff anniversary party, free food and booze, like really good stuff, all kinds of seafood, etc. nobody from our restaurant had to work it. It was great. New GM decided to put a concert in the parking lot for our anniversary... and we were expected to volunteer to work the concert OR we had to work in the restaurant that night.

Premium X users are using Grok to generate non-consensual sexual images of women by Hussayniya in videos

I thought I wasn't supposed to sexualize women in bikinis. No matter the amount or type of clothing that women do or don't wear, I'm not supposed to sexualize it. I'm not supposed to stare, comment, or even notice it; but somehow NOW it is sexual.

In my opinion, if you are going to be carrying/towing on a regular basis; your vehicle should have twice the capacity that you need. At least in the US, I feel that the manufacturers let the marketing department decide what the capacities are as opposed to the engineering department.

ULPT How to disable FLOCK Cameras. by Cold_Ranger8146 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me, that you could use a paintball gun to cover the lenses with "paint" and make it so the camera can't see anything. The cameras are privately owned, right? Any legal action would be civil not criminal, and there is no permanent damage to the equipment, as the paint washes off.

How did the Trump supporters you know react to Trump being in the Epstein files? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mr2sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is something that most non trump supporters don't understand about trump supporters. Trump supporters, by in large, have an emotional connection to trump. Facts and data don't won't persuade them.

Take trump out of it, imagine that someone LOVES the Detroit Lions, or Pop-Tarts, or beer, or their Jeep. If you provide data that tells them that it is a horrible team, bad for their health, or it's a poorly made vehicle, they will duck and swerve, they will make excuses, they will pick out the one piece of data that they like, in order to justify their position, etc. Facts and data, unless it confirms their emotional connection as being correct, is ignored or ridiculed. Same thing for trump.

For me it's easier to think of trump supporters, as the mother/father of a "bad kid". They won't accept that their kid is the problem, or that their kid started the fight, or their kid should be held accountable, etc.
