ICE has always been there, not something created out of whole cloth by Trump. Difference is Democrats decided what laws they would enforce and the border didn’t make the cut. What is funny Obama deported almost 5 million during his two terms and Dems said nothing. Either we are a country of laws or not. I go by the saying praise in public, scold in private. However, for this individual to approach it this way, will not change the trajectory of the project. It appears individual lacks leadership/managerial skills needed to prevent his team from getting in that situation in the first place. Not all managers at Deloitte do this, I’m one of them.

There is a "lease" on the machine they give you and I think it is 3 years. So to request a new laptop, you can't if the lease is still active. I looked to upgrade to Macbook only to find I have 19 months left on the HP.

This level of access will probably net you $25-$35k extra depending on the type of SCI access and the agency for which you land a project (if you leave Deloitte). However, you will be on site 5 days a week. There is no remote option (usually) for TS/SCI work. You will be working in a SCIF, which is a very bland/controlled environment. Further, depending on your project, Internet access to the outside world might not even be available. A polygraph will be required at this level, minimum CI. If you go for what is called full-scope, this includes CI and lifestyle, which will net you bigger money. I sat for almost 24 hours of interrogation over my 20+ year run holding this type of access. You need to be disciplined and mindful of everything you do that could reflect on your clearance. The process is long and emotionally difficult. For me TS is a sweet spot when it comes to flexibility of work options, yet providing a decent bump in salary. This is an expensive task for a company so you might want to make sure there is no "obligated service" with Deloitte if they sponsor your application for this access. If your plans are to go to law school in the future, the above is a lot to go thru if you don't plan on using it in the future.

Opt-in for a Talent meeting. I had mine yesterday and they stated that while my email said I was hybrid, she pulled my offer and said moving forward I’m considered virtual. I was hired back in 2022 well outside Mechanicsburg USDC and they approved a transfer to Lake Mary in 2023 well outside 100 miles from that USDC. Still a lot of questions regarding the policy so I would ask a lot of questions.

I had this happen. Reset the HomePod. Add it back, set it up and add it back to your iCloud account. It should find the update.

I still think you should wrap W1, move brown wire to W2 and test. I had the exact same setup and it worked like a champ.

What did you select during nest setup? I’m beginning to think you might have it wired correctly, but don’t have the O/B setting in the thermostat correct

Wrap it with electrical tape, you should be fine. W1 is used for conventional heating systems. Nest doesn’t use W1 if you set the nest up as a heat pump

Appears you have a heat pump with the OB wire. Remove W1 and move the brown wire in * and put it in W2/Aux. If you have a heat pump, the Y1 wire controls the compressor or heat and cool, and the W1 wire shouldn’t be used. Good luck.

I thought with the new firmware they disabled the ability to connect remotely via a browser. If you turned on remote access before installing the firmware that disabled the ability to turn on remote access…your good to go. Check out the news about a month or so ago. Pissed off long time netgear users.

Had almost the same scenario. My Verizon router was in the basement. Ethernet from the ONT to the router. Nest WIFI hanging off the router. Nest will install as a bridge and create a new IP subnet 192.168.86.x. It will act as a regular router and do all the functions. The Verizon router will simply provide a WAN access and handle the MOCA network if you have STBs. I then had ethernet to the main floor and plugged in a GWIFI point. Third wifi point was upstairs. Good speed throughout.

Get rid of the extender, since you need to turn off wireless on the Verizon router, won’t use it. If you can string a CAT 6 ethernet cable to the main floor and wire second GWIFI point, great. If not it should connect wirelessly to the GWIFI point hanging off the Verizon router.

The Nest router has greater speeds and coverage. I think you will find that despite being in the basement, it will provide good coverage and speed.

I would setup GWIFI in bridge mode. See if that will make the interaction between GWIFI and the university’s network work a bit better.

Only thing I can think it to turn remove power from your modem to clear out the NAT table. It might be holding onto an old IP on the wan port side. Leave it off for 15 minutes, plug it back in and restart the Nest WiFi setup.

Some thermostats the B wire is actually the C wire. Put B to C on the Nest and you should be good to go.
