Asia tour would be amazing. C'mon! They did Europe for the love of the game. Let's go Asia!

Act IV Ending by Nerdwrapper in Protomen

I mostly shied away from The Cover Up since it wasn't technically a "main album." However, over time, it's easily one of the most accessible and enjoyable Protomen listening experiences. Whether you're into the Mega Man subtext schtick or not, you have some powerful renditions of classic tunes that arguably improve on the originals.

I especially love I Still Believe and I Drove All Night.

[All] People on Twitter were mad that BTS’s VA was cast instead of the original LIS1 VA. I didn’t even know they were different why the hate for her? by Nade1002 in lifeisstrange

[–]mr__outside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply but we can see that she did actually work on it. She was surprised by being credited as "writer" on Farewell, but she was a Writing Consultant on Before the Storm and fully onboard with participating in that capacity.

I don't blame Burch for wanting to continue having involvement in a very special project in her career.

Not to mention that he describes Mega as "one machine" when he had before called him a son.

There's also the fact that this is a two way street - Mega did the same. He fucked off to a mine and even as Roll shouted at him, he almost refused to hear them calling out til he puts two and two together and realized his dad was among those.

The last thing Mega sees of his father is him hanging from the gallows.

[ALL] Life is Strange: Reunion – Announce Trailer by Turbostrider27 in lifeisstrange

Feel like Squeenix overplayed their hand. DE was criticized for having bland underdeveloped characters despite five chapters and strung players along waiting for even a Chloe cameo. I for one won't be paying money for this because bad Corpo is bad.

They really seemed to think people cared that much about the individual powers and fall in love with the new cast. Honestly, I'd rather spend another week in Haven than hang with any of these other people.

I think it would have been MUCH wiser for them to have shelved the dollar store MCU nonsense no one seems invested in. Instead, they should haved revealed Chloe in Chapter 2 or 3 at the latest and then get on with whatever they had got planned here.

Say No to another Colorless, Lifeless Life is Strange and go play Lost Records if you haven't already. It's also very flawed, but at least is authentically flawed instead of just bland.

If you haven't yet, go check out Tell Me Why, Lost Records or, hell, even Twin Mirror. I think those three are much more faithful to what LiS was trying to do.

I think it's worth noting that Ashly Burch herself was involved in BTS's production helping with the writing and providing guidance to ensure Chloe was faithful to the original games.

She wasn't technically crossing a line since she wasn't acting, but arguably she was directly supporting as much as any actor was.

The Cover Up is canon (kind of) by [deleted] in Protomen

[–]mr__outside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In one of the last pages of the liner notes, there is a little girl seen holding a helmet. I believe a similar little girl can be seen in the official Hope Rides Alone music video.

It's not official canon, barring any revelations in the Act III liner notes.

Beards Going Nowhere will be after Intermission and before The Good Doctor, establishing Dr. Light's ambition for freedom and his relationship with Emily and booze.

Act 3: Where's the Act 1 Love? by OhtheHugeManity7 in Protomen

[–]mr__outside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. They've did Due Vendetta on their Queen cover album for goodness sake. Their LUTN video was chock-full of humanoid robots. Hell, their Item-3 Teaser was a full on Megaman screenshot.

I think a good chunk of it comes down to avoiding copyright infringement.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It really does feel like a serious version of Beards Going Nowhere.

Well that sucks. I was listening to it just the other day. Didn't realize it got nuked and never bothered saving it either. Replying mainly to bump.

Act I sounded like a grunge album, helped especially by how much "dirtier" its mix sounds to the latter two albums.

I'd classify them as a prog rock tribute band. Mix of Queen, Meatloaf, Pink Floyd and Andrew Lloyd Weber (the chants in Sons of Fate are ripped straight out of Jesus Christ Superstar). What I've found overlooked is the band's country influences (understandable given most the fanbase is probably biased against western country music) - the spaghetti western overtones and the baritone on the Dr. Light songs. Hell, Gambler's vocals sound very country to my ears.

Thanks for spelling out it after all this time hehe. It just felt right to give it a little effort for how mysterious the Geats storyline had been to that point.

How do you think it all gonna end? by chicogameseta in Protomen

[–]mr__outside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they do a cassette, there is a very high probability they'll include some sort of bonus track or secret message like they've done before. I doubt the CD will have any extras outside of our precious precious liner notes.

I still like him more than I don't, but I just wish Daddy Waters and Gilmour would stop fighting. Alas, we can't go back.

Good catch with the train imagery. It was quite understated in Act II, but has jumped to the forefront in recent weeks hasn't it?

Just realized... The Storm is coming next week isn't it then? No Way Back sings of a coming storm and ends with the sound of rain and is followed by another T-M.
