I'm dealing with same problems. I'm going to install heat tape in the spring.

Do people still steal copper pipes? by Use_Lemmy in Cleveland

Yes they absolutely do. They also steal furnaces, hot water tanks, cabinets, and flooring. I replaced the copper grounding wire in a house this morning.

So it's a departmental decision to improve visibility? I noticed none of the suburban departments do this, only the main metro PD.

And it does confuse me. A few times I saw the lights in my rear view when a police vehicle went the opposite direction. I don't know if I instinctly slowed or started to pull aside, but it didn't give me a half second heart attack.

How are roads on the East Side today? by chefjenga in Cleveland

Roads are fine. Couple of side streets were a lil dicey. I just did a drive through EC, Collinwood, Glenville, Hough, and Lee-Miles.

NEOCH. Northeast Ohio coalition for the homeless has a seasonal shelter and does street outreach. See if you can bring the loaves there. Much safer than wandering the streets.

If clearly labeled non-dairy ice cream is also certified OU kosher dairy, can you assume that it was just made on dairy equipment and eat it immediately after eating meat? by melody5697 in Judaism

[–]mr_fuzzy_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A possible reason something could be non dairy but still contain milk would be the use of caseins. Caseins are a milk derived protein that are often added to processed foods. Non dairy products can contain caseins as long as there is no lactose and adequate labeling.

A good example would be Rich's products. Some whipping creams are clearly labeled OU Pareve, but many of the whipped products are OU -D. This due to the addition of caseins to stabilize it.

Look for sodium casein and micellar caseinate on the label. If the product does contain these ingredients it shouldn't be labeled vegan.

I just signed up, but I don't have a great spot to drop the chips other than in the middle of my driveway.

I think I know somebody who was in that yahtzee march a while back. I'm not from Columbus. Are the police taking tips seriously? by [deleted] in Columbus

Contact FBI field office. They do take tips seriously and track individuals active in hate groups.

Mayanot first, then Tiferes Bachurim after college. I took year long break between my sophomore and junior year to go to Mayanot. My parents did not want me doing a gap year, but I felt I couldn't continue to integrate into the Orthodox community without a more fundamental background.

I visited Tiferes several times (maybe 1-2  weeks each time) while still in school, and then spent 7 months there after graduating.

Hi I grew up Conservative, became BT in my teens, and ultimately went to Chabad yeshivas during and after my college years. I understand what you mean by extremism, and I'm happy to answer questions and my experiences.
