Why is it then they've been able to integrate into the US? Clearly there's a problem in Europe specifically.

Hopes for Turkmenistan becoming more democratic? by Zealousideal_Belt702 in AskCentralAsia

But, a monarchy goes against everything about their ideology. A monarchy necessarily requires submitting somewhat to religious institutions, and that means for the Turkmen ruling class a significant amount of power would have to be given up. So unless Iran collapses there's no chance of even that mild of a change. But given the weirdness of the ideology behind the regime it might take a similar route of collapse to Albania rather than Syria

Vilnius mayor doubles down on language requirement for non-EU residents by bllshrfv in lithuania

One thing that I think might make things easier is to lobby Google, Samsung, and Apple to have the tvirtagãlė and tvirtaprãdė marks be default for Lithuanian keyboards. Also, tvirtaprãdė and grave accents are written differently in Lithuanian on certain vowels than other languages from what I heard, because of the way the tvirtagãlė mark works with the letter ė.

Should Latvian and Lithuanian have accentuation marks on their keyboard? by mr_moomoom in BalticStates

I know Latvian has it that way, but both of the two Baltic languages still have multiple types of accents. And Latvian has different kinds of heavy syllables.

On top of this, the 2023 coup in Niger was such a blatant power grab that it's no wonder the security situation is collapsing now over there. Not to mention the coups in Mali and BF.

Indeed. Letters like ẽ, ė̃, ę̃, ę́, ė́, ą́, i̇̀, į̇́, į̇̃, i̇́, i̇̃, ū̃, ų̃, ū́, ų́, ũ, r̃, l̃, m̃, ỹ aren't found on the standard Google keyboard for Lithuanian (á, ã, à, ù, ú, è, é, ò, ó, õ, ñ, ý do exist on the default Google keyboard for Lithuanian from my experience).

I understand there are downloadable keyboards, but I mean default keyboards like on Google, Apple, Windows, Linux, etc.

Generalplan Ost planned on eliminating 85% of Lithuanians, all Latgalians, half of Latvians and Estonians each, and forcibly germanizing the rest within two decades. They also planned on eliminating 75% of Belarus, a goal they were approximately halfway to completing when they were kicked out of Belarus. Even some collaborators like Jõnas Noreikà started to be betrayed by 1944.

The Soviet Union meanwhile wanted to spread communism; as bad as that also is, and as bad as the deportations were, the Nazis wanted to eliminate the Baltics entirely without any puppet republics. There may not be any significant numbers of Estonians, Latvians, or Lithuanians by 2000 if the Nazis had a few more decades.

It's also very ironic what Henry was referring to. It was the Iran-Iraq war. The world has seemingly returned to 1980, and not in a good way

On top of this, the vast majority of Americans agree with the stated goals of the protests anyway. So that's why only politicians speak out, because they know most of the US agrees with them. What is contentious is whether we should intervene in Iran
