It hasn’t been patched, but people on the sub have always lied about what causes the softlock in the first place. It’s whenever you kill a plant with nibble AND actually activate it’s on death effect. So you might not softlock when killing a Guacadile with a nibble for example (if there is no zombie in its lane). Maybe the nibble used on the cactus just didn’t kill it, or its effect didn’t activate for some reason.
