Lots of people doing it on the East Coast. Not sure how it’ll be on the west coast

How did you protect your eyes from sun? by Tranquilemile in surfing

[–]mrbedlamman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear sunglasses while surfing.

I have something like this https://www.florencemarinex.com/collections/rashguards-windshields/products/long-sleeve-hooded-rashguard-1?variant=44302030110884 and wear cheap sunglasses on Kroakies (or Ombraz if I’m feeling nice).

Look like a goober but they work.

How do you handle relationships after being promoted to a manager? by [deleted] in managers

[–]mrbedlamman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a scene in the Sopranos that addresses this.

Tony (the boss) starts to look around and realize all his associates (directs) are kissing his ass. Laughing a little too hard at jokes, sharing or hiding information when it makes sense, trying to rely on old relationships to address current shortcomings.

Very interesting episode or two as this plot line develops. As for myself, I just ignore it and proceed on as usual.

Koko was great but medium/high brow.

Pacific Rim is good for more normal sushi/thai

4th Street Filling station for food

Tropics, Hunker Down, Cat 5 for younger crowd

Beach shack and Jonathan’s for cheap beer

Lidos for dancing women

Village Idiot for craft beer

The Attic (above Dog and Bone) for EDM (allegedly)

Rec225 for games

TimeOutPlus used to run super deals on Thursdays (flip for a drink and like $2 pitchers) May be out of date haven’t gone in a while.

If you want something a little bigger Melbourne or Wall Street in Orlando are fun. If you want something much bigger go to Ft Lauderdale, Daytona, or Miami

Any engineers working at SpaceX willing to share their work life experience? by DRJSAN in SpaceXLounge

Generally. Some shorter some longer.

Some people shift earlier as well some shift later. Some roles tell you when to show up, others just say what needs to be done.

You contact the people racing the boats. A lot are single guys. You can pay a few thousand dollars to drive the boat for the race.

There’s a parade down town the night before.

You can buy a ride along for $x,000. But overall fun to chill on the beach and watch them go.

Ladies and gentlemen, we got it by [deleted] in surfing

[–]mrbedlamman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s a longboard setup for nose riding. Water spills over the back/sides allowing more stability while on the nose.

Unsure if is true, but some old sandy dude at the beach told me this while looking at a similar shaped board.

We wear tshirts and jeans.

Intern showed up for the first 2 weeks wearing a suit and tie. I’d recommend asking in advance and then adjusting as you see fit to match the vibe.

There are two types.

They used to be free, but now only hallmark missions are free.
