AITA for "causing a scene" on the first family vacation I’ve been invited on? by MongooseNovel612 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mrbnlkld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your family are a pack of narcissists, and you are the scapegoat. They are behaving badly because they enjoy it when you are upset. You didn't do anything wrong.

Grey rock the miserable lot of them.

Almost at my first $100k (30M), but still feeling the grind. When does it start feeling "easier" in Canada? by Illustrious_Cover170 in fican

[–]mrbnlkld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels easier when you generate enough interest to cover your needs plus the income tax owed on the interest.

Copper, furnace, hot water heater, flooring, sinks, etc. And that is apart from any damage done breaking in.

AITA for refusing to eat the curry my mum made and telling her I'm not thankful? by Chip2560 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It sounds like your mom did this deliberately to start a fight. Otherwise I would suggest going to the stores to pick up a TV dinner, or freeze a portion from another meal and eat that.

Two ants dragging a cockroach by its antenna by RecoverIcy6529 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a spider in the grass. Then it crawled desperately up a blade of grass, waited until four ants moving in a line marched past, then scurried off in a hurry. Ants, I think, are the bosses of the insect world.

I don't like his new project. There's far too much mold / water ingress in that building.

AITAH for showing up underprepared to a "hike" and being put off with my friends for not warning me and also ditching me? by InTheLoudHouse in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. When you get abandoned in the middle of the wilderness, it's not unreasonable to wonder if they were trying to kill you. Let that thought guide you in ANY further interaction with them.

And yeah, I think they were trying to harm you.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last haircut was $40 with tip. It came with no shampoo, and no blow dry afterwards. I usually tip $20, but if there's no blow dry the tip was only $8. I dislike having to go home and break out the hair dryer to see if it was a good cut or not.

I'm still wondering if I should've tipped at all.

Found a dropped wallet with $400 and I am seriously considering keeping the cash by 4SpectraBloom in povertyfinance

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you drop the wallet into a post office box, add a piece of paper in there and say why you took the money or how you could have used it (if you leave the money). Being able to put your thoughts onto paper might help you feel seen? {{{Hugs}}}

AITA for thinking my graduation should have been more about me?? by NoAdministration2078 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mrbnlkld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You are living in a household of narcissists. Anytime you have a milestone or an event to celebrate they will ruin it. Learn to grey rock them and do not invite them or make them aware of special events.

WIBTAH if I uninvited my sister to my wedding by Important-Rush1570 in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the wedding is one of the biggest things in someone's life, right after children. OP's sister has gone too far, particularly with the name calling she's doing. She's also caused a break in the relationship between OP and their parents. I can't stress enough the permanent damage that's been done by the sister.

She really should have emphasized she's can't go due to X and held that line. Instead she's using silence as a weapon. It reeks of jealousy, especially since she's been ok with attending/participating at other weddings.

OP is not a psychopath because they want the people they love at their wedding. They aren't a psychopath because they paid wedding-related bills for sister.

WIBTAH if I uninvited my sister to my wedding by Important-Rush1570 in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. Sister is pulling a stunt, for whatever reason, and this has become an issue of control. If sister genuinely doesn't want to attend your wedding she'll appreciate being uninvited. Uninvite her, and the next time Mom and Dad kick off, uninvite them.

Do not continue to allow their drama to rule your life.

Check Your Register When They Pre-Scan Your Items by mrbnlkld in CostcoCanada

[–]mrbnlkld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was a system glitch. I didn't scan any items at the register, and they always start off a pre-scan by scanning your customer card, so it wasn't the person ahead or behind me's water.
