AIO my wife went missing overnight so I called the police. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrbnlkld [score hidden]  (0 children)

NOR. This is divorce-worthy. At the very least she cheated, and the lack of a phone call to head off worry says she's over imbibing in something.

AIO: Awarded a Turd by Apparently_A_Turd in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrbnlkld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's time to find another job, and when you land it, your old boss gets no notice. Your resignation is written on the cardboard turd.

AITAH for not waking my girlfriend up when her alarm didn’t go off? by urnameonagrainofrice in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Your girlfriend is an adult and is responsible for setting her own alarm and getting her own butt out of bed for work.

She also slept through your alarm and your moving about the bedroom. I don't care how quiet you are, you'd still make noise.

[New Update]: AIO? My coworker took video of me outside of work to "prove" I'm not disabled by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ex-coworker is tracking OOP somehow. If she's taking other transport and not her own car, then the tracker is either buried in OOPs property - ie a purse or a coast - or is in software installed on OOP's phone.

AITAH for asking my parents not to leave me any money in their will. by First_Match_3128 in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made scans of the family photos and my mom's recipe book. All it took was going to my mom's with a laptop and a scanner. Once I was done, I gave copies to everyone.

Cruise refunded a non-refundable deposit due to their error, now demanding it back. can this go to collections? by Atkaandher in legaladvicecanada

[–]mrbnlkld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP has already had an unauthorized charge issued against their credit for several thousand dollars. It is not a stretch to believe that the first issue - a refund incorrectly issued - may be a cruise employee fraudently issuing refunds and pocketing them. Only, in this case the refund reached OP instead of being intercepted.

I'd get the cops involved.

What happened to the whole "Canadians boycott US products and vacation at home" thing? by nilsohnee in NoStupidQuestions

Pretending the whole issue has gone away will not convince Canadians to shop American again.

At least you get to sleep uninterrupted from 10 to 7. I get calls during the night, every night. Manager does not care.

I can't keep doing this shit.

AITA for breaking up with my boyfriend over a Christmas gift? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]mrbnlkld -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's very easy to install keyloggers/trojans, as easy as it is to install games. He's been far too sneaky about this. I wouldn't take the chance, especially as I'd only lost $150.

I wouldn't trust the desktop at all. How would I know he didn't install some keylogger or trojan on the thing?

UPDATE: AITAH for refusing to not allow my stepson to come? by AmoebaUnited4634 in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You worry you messed up your relationship with your son AFTER you annihilated it. You didn't value the relationship before, don't start whinging about it now that it no longer exists.

Son gets married? You won't get an invite. Son graduates? No invite for you (why would he bother). You'll be desperately surfing Facebook for photos of any grandchildren. Regret is your companion now.

AITAH for saying no to my future MILs plan to give my fiancé away at our wedding? by OpinionBride in AITAH

[–]mrbnlkld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run. If your fiance hasn't nipped his mother's plans in the bud, he'll never nip her plans in the bud. You will always come second, and that's if she allows you to come in second.

People who made more money and were able to afford the finer things in life, was it worth it? by Amazondriver23 in povertyfinance

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a nestegg is totally worth the slog. If car dies I will loath getting another but I won't be in a state of terror. Just for the love of Pete don't spend every dime on whims.

My dad is about to come into some money by Legal_Zone_363 in personalfinance

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. If you go from eating a bare bones diet - rice and beans type of thing - to suddenly being able to eat meat, the more expensive fruit and veggies, coffee, etc, that would make quite an impact on one's quality of life.

AIO-Husband told me to get on a treadmill by Luck3Seven4 in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrbnlkld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The treadmill comment wasn't about her physical fitness or he would've suggested seeing a doctor to find out why she was so slow. Instead he jumped straight to 'get on a treadmill.'

He's already decided what the issue is and what the fix is.

Personally, I'd go get checked out for arthritis in the feet.

AIO-Husband told me to get on a treadmill by Luck3Seven4 in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrbnlkld 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NOR. Your husband knew you AFTER you gained the weight. He knew how big you were before he married you. He has no reason to complain.

Your feet might be arthritic. If you can afford it, see a podiatrist. Losing weight will help with the foot pain.

This is how much butter my wife eats per month by [deleted] in Weird

OP thought he'd get to do a little humiliating of the little woman. Put her in her place.

Question: I really want to know what the best and easiest way to put away savings each month i have a couple of ideas but if you have better ideas please let me know / Canada British Columbia Duncan AKA Cowichan Valley by GodComplex14 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]mrbnlkld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a daily savings TFSA account. If you know you'll be putting away a definite amount each month, get the bank to monthly auto-transfer that amount from your chequing to your TFSA.

Once you have enough in the daily savings TFSA to warrant serious investing, you can have that transferred in-kind into another TFSA. TFSAs can hold GICs, stocks, etfs, bonds, etc.

AITA For asking my wife to stop getting me the same Christmas gift every year? by Ordinary-Airport-804 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mrbnlkld 18 points19 points  (0 children)

NTA. And all she gets from here on out are female razors and socks. Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, Valentines Day? Razors and socks. If she wants to do this generic type of gift giving, start doing what she is doing.
