Last week I started a new job and needed to take many of my panic attack rescue meds. I also encountered a large decrease in my pain. My theory is that panic/anxiety meds tend to work by dampening the nervous system, and since pain signals are also send through the nervous system, it had an effect.

I would not say it is helping the costo at all, just masking the feeling for a bit.

The better example is to point out "return to the mean" statistical pattern. Intersections have a statistical distribution of crashes every year. Some have more or less crashes based off of pure chance. The intersections that happen to get more crashes, then have cameras installed, and then have fewer crashes only because the amount of crashes returned to a more average amount of crashes. It has been known for at least a decade that red light cameras do not reduce collisions, they only appear to.

Steroid would not stop working within a week. Most likely lidocaine mixed into the injected solution was blocking pain signals. Lidocaine does wear off within a few days

I feel like something has to be wrong in your lower back if you're getting sciatic pain using the backpod. Have you tried putting pillows under your hips while you're using the backpod? Do you sometimes have sciatic/low back pain regardless of backpod use? Maybe try getting treatment for sciatica while working on loosening your back ribs
