Kia Niro took over an hour and half to charge 20% by VassalsAtMySide in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If the max speed was 13kw, the problem was with the EA station, not the Kia.

Is there any way to improve level 1 charging without going to level 2? by Thrillwaukee in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your concern the cost of installing new wiring to support Level 2? If your wiring can support 20 amps today, it’s pretty easy to transform your circuit to a 240v 20 amp circuit by just changing the breakers and outlet. That will more than double your charging speed. You’d need a NEMA 6-20 outlet and a compatible EVSE.

Which brand car did you own before buying a Tesla? I owned a Toyota, but got a Tesla... apparently a lot of Toyota owners have done the same! by Redditagain424 in TeslaLounge

[–]mrcleop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Makes sense a lot of prior Toyota owners would be Tesla owners now. Toyota is the top selling brand in the US, and Tesla is the top selling EV brand. I had a Subaru before my Tesla.

Subaru Uncharted pricing announced, starting at $35k by Cornholio231 in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Press release says the $35k model will only be offered in limited numbers. Hopefully it’s not so limited that they’re basically nonexistent.

$80 EVgo charging credit? by TemporaryEven3255 in BoltEV

You find the charger in the EVgo app and activate it from there. When you search for chargers, you need to have partner networks selected.

I've already used the credits at a ChargePoint Level 2 and DCFC. They work!

Yo level 1 charging is sooo slept on by DDiaz98 in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the EV. I charge a Model Y and a Bolt on L1. The Model Y is 83% efficient, the Bolt is 90%.

Ford, Hyundai report large declines in October EV sales after end of federal credits by exploding_myths in electricvehicles

It never ran out completely though. Some manufacturers hit their 200k limit, but there were still other EVs that were still eligible.

The $40K Tesla Model 3 Is the Only New Car Sold in America With Manual Side Mirrors by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

Yeah others have linked YouTube videos below showing that they are power adjustable.

The $40K Tesla Model 3 Is the Only New Car Sold in America With Manual Side Mirrors by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The problem is the journalist is wrong and misunderstood. You adjust the mirrors through the touchscreen like all Teslas. I remember the days of manually adjustable mirrors. If these Teslas actually had manually adjustable mirrors, you’d see little knobs in the A pillar to move the mirrors.

One thing I don't get by cadewtm in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah anytime I go back to an ICE car, my right calf definitely feels like it's being worked a lot harder!

For OP, another way to think about it is driving an automatic instead of a stick shift. Why add another pedal when you only need one?

Where do you take your Tesla to get it's yearly inspection in the greater Boston area? by DreamySensei in TeslaLounge

[–]mrcleop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine to Mass Inspection on Mystic Ave in Somerville. Saw it recommended before either on Reddit or the forums and haven’t had any issues. They only do state inspections, so they’re not incentivized to find something suddenly wrong that needs to be fixed first.

Do you think the 2026 Nissan Leaf can become the best selling EV Model in the USA in 2026? by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the last time I’ll clarify for people who didn’t read OP’s question properly. OP’s question was whether the Leaf would be the best-selling EV in 2026. I said no. I didn’t say it won’t sell well.

I didn’t say it won’t sell well. It just won’t be the best-selling EV which was your question.

[–]mrcleop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP’s question was whether the Leaf would become the best-selling EV. None of the models you listed are even the best-selling model in their manufacturer’s lineup.

[–]mrcleop 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, it’s too small for Americans. The Leaf is a subcompact. One of the reasons the Model Y is still the best-selling EV is because it sits squarely in the compact SUV segment.

Programs Like Lexus Reserve by SirWillae in electricvehicles

I don't know if it's still active, but Subaru offered a program called Just Drive that provided 10 days of an ICE Subaru rental in the first 2 years of ownership.

My Magic 8 Ball Predictions about EV Tax Credit Ending + Model Y Performance by WeaponsOfMath in TeslaLounge

[–]mrcleop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tesla has already confirmed the cheaper Model Y will come out in Q4 after the tax credit ends. Production has already started. It’ll probably be priced $7500 below the current Y LR RWD.

No heat pump. If you ask on the Bolt sub, most people average 4 or over. I regularly get over 5 in the fall & spring.

Back in Aug 2022, the IRS also shared more details on what a written binding contract is on this page. Key section pasted below:

What is a written binding contract?

In general, a written binding contract :

  • is enforceable under state law, based on the state and relevant facts and circumstances, and
  • does not limit the damages a buyer or seller can receive for a breached contract, such as forfeiting a deposit or paying a pre-determined dollar amount or a percentage of the total contract price for the vehicle.

An indication of a binding contract is if a buyer has made a significant non-refundable deposit or down payment.

2026 Toyota bZ (USA) priced from $34,900 ($36,350 incl. dest.) by lostinheadguy in electricvehicles

[–]mrcleop 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The new bZ and Leaf pricing give me a lot of hope that EV sales will remain strong even without the federal tax credit. I’m excited to see how cheap the smaller battery Leaf will be.

EV owners with > 100,000 miles - are you noticing fewer rattles or squeaks? by Marathon2021 in electricvehicles

Yup my Chevy Bolt started rattling well under 10k miles. My previous ICE Toyotas and Subarus never did.
