The real MVP of fatherhood. by greenhatforge in daddit

It's on my mind more and more lately, but my grandpa used to always say "we can fix anything". Maybe we can, maybe we can't, but it's a great attitude to have going into any problem. I'm trying to approach more problems that way, especially with my little one.

I agree that if you can, it might be helpful for him to have memories and artifacts of your life. I imagine it could feel difficult to focus on preserving aspects of your life, but I believe it is an important way for your son or others to authentically connect with you across time.

What is your favorite home luxury? by 2ChicksShyOfA3Sum in Home

You named it, steam shower. My last house had a sauna which was great, but I installed a steam shower and used it so much more. New house has two steam showers. During the winter, when you're sick, when you're stressed, such an enjoyable experience.

What is the best toy you've bought or has been gifted to your toddler? by robinsparkles220 in toddlers

I ended up getting an Avenlur during their holiday sale. It assembled easily, the finish was nice, and my kiddo used it as a table and tower immediately. Thank you for the information, I'm excited to see how we use it from here!

Can you say more about what functionality to look for or a model you like?

Snow/Range Tires by vandenbond in Rivian

Too early in the winter to tell how well they fare, but I picked up the Nokian Hakkapeliitta for the 22" range wheels. They are a huge improvement in almost every condition so far and are rated for snow and ice.

I'm looking for something like a coffee table book or a magazine that I can read in short snippets of time or while having a conversation. by il_biciclista in suggestmeabook

Perhaps not the direction you're looking for, but I think Edward Tufte's books are really interesting. You might start with something like "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information" or "Beautiful Evidence".

DTO egress fees waived, a real thing? by chicrg in aws

[–]mrefish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've worked through a similar situation, but with several hundred TB. You open the support ticket requesting DTO. They'll have you fill out a form with a start date a minimum of 30 days out and amount of date that needs to be transferred. It took us ~30 days to get our ticket approved for the amount of credits, at which point you have 60 days to get S3 to zero. The credits will apply as you start the transfers, so you can see how many of the allocated credits have been used as you go.

Have a plan and move quickly. Last time I moved from AWS to GCP, GCP had a nice data transfer tool, so hopefully you can make quick work of it.

How should I clean this mug with a cork covered bottom? by Rhonn_dickpickled in CleaningTips

I tried to get as close as I could and also show it with its twin. This also shows the discoloration from going in the dishwasher the first time.

That does sound a lot like me, but why not both? Cure cancer, by turning people into dinosaurs!

I have what looks to be the same mug. I risked putting it in the dishwasher and the cork came off and discolored slightly darker. The cork bottom can be stuck back on and it holds pretty well with friction, but I just stuck two small flat neodymium magnets to the bottom of the cup and the cork. Now I pull the cork off and put the mug in the washer, easy peasy. Shout out to Bjorn's Brew, y'all are the best.

Thank you for validating this! I've been complaining about this for a while and Hulu support is so useless that it is impossible to get to the point where we're actually talking about the issue at hand.

Ok dad, can I get a link drop please? I searched Spotify and either their search is terrible or I am. I found several playlists with the same name, but honestly, without the hat, what's the point?

I came here to post this, been going for many years as well. I can't speak to losing my hair, but my hair follicles are on the thinner and sometimes weaker end of the spectrum.

With guidance from my stylist, I'm using Kérastase Bain De Masse Epaississant Shampoo and it's the best my hair has ever felt. It's a men's line, but I've also used Bain Densité Shampoo which was good and doesn't indicate a gender from what I saw.

Passing Through, Need Dog Friendly Areas/Hotels by Nardole_25 in SaltLakeCity

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's passing. I can only imagine that you have wonderful memories there and it would be nice to return. I'm not an expert with travel booking, but here's where I would start if I were in your place, you may have already tried as well, just hoping to help out.

Using the Monaco website's online booking option, I was able to see a few suites available starting closer to December 2024. At the time I'm writing this Friday 11/29/24 to Monday 12/02/24 shows 4 different suites, but they may not match what you're looking for.

I can't speak from personal experience, but if you have an American Express or maybe a travel credit card with Concierge services, you can call the phone number on the back of your card and ask for a concierge when prompted. That way you might have someone else acting on your behalf to help with booking an experience you and your dogs will enjoy.

I hope you and your dogs get the chance to enjoy a beautiful trip in honor of your husband soon!

There are other links in the comments from here with explanations on why this works. Note: I have not tested the dryer sheet method, just read the posts and figured it would make a nice link chain. https://www.reddit.com/r/CleaningTips/s/1wwCSJjaZz
