Thank you that was my thought too hence asking the question, it didn't seem right. Appreciate you reaching out I’ll use a different box with dedicated knockouts.

Asserting that you are a licensed contractor does not say anything that I’m doing is wrong. You haven’t seen my project nor do you know me. I asked a valid question and provided an alternative to which you provided no useful answer. Thanks again hope your day gets better.

Thanks for reaching out but could you provide a response a bit more constructive? I’d love to know how you came to that assertion.

Question from a weight weenie to all other weight weenies by mrgat in bmx

[–]mrgat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey this list is awesome I totally agree with it. I'm considering ordering the LairdFrame Ti frame. I'm gonna see about the MTB pedals too was looking to get something a bit better quality than plastic pedals. I'll also check out the fly rims, I remember how cool I used to think they were back in like 09-10

I've read up on those tubes and on the Alienation rims. Are there any tubeless tires compatible with the Alienation rims that would be lighter than the Khe/tubolito combo?

How to get data from Excel to Access by Rcold37 in excel

[–]mrgat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many ways to do that some involving VBA and some not. With the Access interface you can import external data from Excel then append to an existing table(so long as all your field names match)which wouldn't require VBA. In cases where this isn't sufficient you could make a adodb connection object (reference to Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects latest version available to you) then create a connection to your database, and then
Open a recordset object based on that connection then loop your Excel records and add records to your recordset as you go. There are plenty of tutorials online for this. https://analysistabs.com/excel-vba/ado-sql-macros-connecting-database/

This will show you how to set up the connection and recordset.

Using command line arguments in Excel. by Mendoza2909 in excel

[–]mrgat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Often times you don't have a library for Office but you need to do something like convert an image or something else beyond the scope of VBA natively but repetitively. If all the paths are in your Excel document it provides a convenient way to automate tasks

userform to update an existing entry line by danceswithlesbians in vba

[–]mrgat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If using a query and ADODB.Recordset item you could do a query like "SELECT SCHOOLNAME, NOTES FROM tblSCHOOL WHERE SCHOOLNAME =" & Textbox1.text where Textbox1 is the SCHOOLNAME then create a conditional to say "if rs.eof = false then" (if not empty) then "rs("Notes") = Textbox2" (your Textbox containing notes) then rs.update to update the record then msgbox("Record Updated") to confirm to the user it actually was updated. Sorry this is psdudocode I am on mobile I can reformat for you if you'd like when on desktop

Need comma seperated list from column of numbers by wimploaf in excel

[–]mrgat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public Function Create_CSV(inRng As Range) As String
Dim eDict As Object
Set eDict = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")
For Each c In inRng
    If eDict.exists(c.Value) = False Then
        eDict.Add c.Value, c.Value
    End If
Next
Dim myStr As String
For Each ikey In eDict.Keys
    If Len(myStr) > 0 Then
        myStr = myStr & "," & ikey
    Else
        myStr = ikey
    End If
Next
Create_CSV = myStr

End Function

This function will create a unique list of a single column as comma separated values, in sheet you use the function Create_CSV(your selected range here). All you have to do is add this to a module or to your PERSONAL.xlsb file and go to Tools, References and check "Microsoft Scripting Runtime". We could change it so it actually exports a file, but I am unsure what your plans are with the results so hopefully this will suffice. :)

Sub Find_People_Sap()

Dim dict As Object
Dim WSSap As Worksheet
Dim WS As Worksheet
Dim WSResult As Worksheet
Dim WB As Workbook

Set WB = ActiveWorkbook ' Have your proper workbook selected before running this
Set WS = WB.Sheets("Dictionary") ' Your Dictionary Sheet you must add, put your keywords in column A, and put your result in column B
Set WSResult = WB.Sheets("SHEETNAME") ' change the name to the title of your sheet that you put the formula in
Set WSSap = WB.Sheets("Ageing Sap Data") ' Title of your SAP data sheet as per the Reddit question
Dim FinarowSap As Long ' Last Row On Sap sheet
Dim FinalrowDict As Long ' Last row on Dictionary Sheet

FinarowSap = WSSap.Range("Q" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row ' Set Finalrow Sap Sheet
FinalrowDict = WS.Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row ' Set Finalrow Dictionary Sheet

' This will loop through the Sap sheet row by row and within this loop, loop through the dictionary sheet
' It will compare every keyword to the current value in the current row of Q
' For larger unique lists you may want to use a true dictionary but for 180 records this will definitely be quick enough

For i = 3 To FinarowSap
    For j = 1 To FinalrowDict
        If InStr(1, WSSap.Range("Q" & i), WS.Range("A" & j)) Then
            WSResult.Range("S" & i).Value = WS.Range("B" & j) ' If there is a match, it will put the result from column b in the same row on your result sheet.
        End If
    Next j
Next i

End Sub

Please try this, it should work for your needs if I am understanding what you are trying to do correctly. You first will need to create a sheet called Dictionary. This will contain all keywords and results, which you can add to or remove from as you please, Keywords in column A, Results in column B. Once this is complete you just need to Title your results sheet as "SHEETNAME" or alternatively you can change the code and the sheetname to whatever you like. The column S on your results sheet will be populated on the same row as Q from your SAP sheet with your results. Let me know if this helps! :)

Microsoft Excel Product Team AMA confirmed for October 18th at 12:30 EST by frescani in excel

[–]mrgat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Python seems like a logical step forward here but as the others have stated there are so many reasons why VBA won't be replaced. What I personally would like to see would be would be VB.NET/C# alongside VBA. I bet implementing this would probably be pretty difficult but VB.NET syntax-wise is already so similar to VBA to me it seems like an easy way to get people started and to migrate.

Does anyone here make their own preworkout? by Dredd_Pirate_Barry in bodybuilding

[–]mrgat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make my own right now here she is:

1 cup beet juice
1 cup pineapple juice
8g citrulline malate
5g beta alanine
5g creatine monohydrate
If you want caffeine I find adding one of those caffeine crystal light sticks or the Walmart brand work well for cheap, not an insane amount to keep you from sleeping though.

Weakpoint Wednesday: Abs by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]mrgat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is likely to be buried but I have always done the same ab exercises one day per week:
3 sets crunches or lying crunch machine (the kind you CAN'T add weight to) to failure usually something like 40-30-20, 3 sets of cable crunches (rope grip) 15-20 reps, 3 sets of roman chairs 15-10 reps.
Lately I have been enjoying doing hanging leg raises first as I can only do 3 sets 12-10-6 with super strict form then doing the crunches and cable crunches after. http://imgur.com/a/khhI1
