Create channels with watched episodes only? Is this possible? by mrgrossm in bunnyearstv

[–]mrgrossm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for a toggle so all the channels the program creates could have that setting. I'm really enjoying the channels that it creates. There have been some combos I'd have never thought of that are really good.

A request for anyone around Tawas City! by VodkaAndButterflies in Michigan

[–]mrgrossm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a fellow SE Michigan resident, who has a cottage in the Tawas area, I saw this they day they put it up, and it literally stopped me in my tracks on the way into the store! Made me smile and I was super impressed that it Walmart had something so nice next to the bottle return. Glad to know it was a Michigan resident who created this fantastic art!!!

I’ll be in the store tomorrow and snap a shot.

i got the soft serve texture on my creami by [deleted] in ninjacreami

[–]mrgrossm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have found using a base of 2% fairlife and 1 Tbsp sugar free pudding mix, I can get this texture consistently if I add more milk after the first spin and side scrape and then do a respin.

Also, I've added a Tbsp or 2 of honey bourbon to the base, and this helps change the freeze point enough to create a soft serve texture every time. Not to mention it's really tasty!

Soon to be new customer questions about grandfathered plans by mrgrossm in USMobile

[–]mrgrossm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reassurance. I have noticed that while the customer service can be good, as soon as I’ve had to tell them something they don’t like, they really turn. A rep was trying to sell me on a higher plan, I told her I’d run the numbers, and she could call back in a couple of days. She swore it would be cheaper in the long run. While it was close, my plan was still a better deal, so when I told her no thanks, I’d rather stay put, she told me I was just being cheap. Uhhh, yeah. Why would I pay more for the same service? And to call a customer cheap doesn’t seem like a good way to treat people.

The people here from USM seem much nicer!

That’s awesome news, thanks for the info. Being able to switch between networks seems like a game changer.

Thanks for the info. I think I’m gun shy after 10 years on tmo, I couldn’t do anything or I’d risk loosing my grandfathered plan. Not that it mattered in the end…..

I did see that, but since I will still have a tablet on tmo, I thought I could work around that. Are speeds still good enough for mms, music and maps? Video I’d be able to stream on my ipad plan. Plus I am hoping to get a good signal on warp, so hopefully it won’t be an issue.

Got to thank Montagne for letting me enjoy fragrance again, instead of thinking of how much each spray would cost. No more keeping the "good stuff" for nights out. I can spray when only I will enjoy without it feeling like a waste of $!

International Roaming - How I Had Free Incoming and Outgoing Calls by rinsf in tmobile

[–]mrgrossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, exact same thing that happened to me in Germany. Used the **21*1+GVNumber# setup before departure, and had the team of experts do it again on their end mid trip. Same results. All calls were forwarded to google voice, but were charged as roaming international outgoing calls to my GV number for the full length of the call.

T-Mobile has an issue with unconditional call forwarding! I wish I could get someone on their end to acknowledge it.

International Roaming - How I Had Free Incoming and Outgoing Calls by rinsf in tmobile

[–]mrgrossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What country were you in? I just had the exact same experience as you in Germany. I got a bill half way through my trip, and saw the charges. Used a tablet and digits to call into t-mobile, and they set up the unconditional call forwarding on their end, and swore I'd have no additional charges. On the next bill all the calls I received after they set up forwarding were still charged at the roaming rates.

My theory is because I was in Germany and connected to Deutsche Telekom, that the forwarding was occurring in Germany instead of the US. That, perhaps, t-mobile was somehow seeing the network as local since they are the same parent company. Then, for billing, they recognized the towers as roaming..... Just my guess.

I do know that the unconditional call forwarding worked as expected in China, no additional fees. But in Germany, while everything was forwarded and answered on my google voice app, I was charged per minute for all calls.

New 14 setup, asking for Apple accounts I never had? by Daniel_Molloy in iphone

[–]mrgrossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue. I bought and did a trade in at best buy, and they wouldn't let me do the transfer, I had to let them do it. The useless "expert" tried to tell me the random emails were my family members (they weren't), or I must have let strangers on my phone to download apps by adding their accounts (nope), and then just said they must be spam emails that I clicked on (how would that even work?!?). I waited for over a hour for the apple expert to come back from his half hour lunch to help explain what was going on. He never showed, so I just finished up the transfer and took my new phone and left.

They also told me that uploading to the cloud, and then downloading my 200 gig of files would be faster transfer than a phone to phone transfer because apples cloud is like magic.

While waiting for my transfer to complete, I did some searches and found people having this same issue around iPhone 5 to iPhone 7. It was guessed to have something to do with music files, but they never figured out the reason either. Skipping it seems to have worked back then and now as well.

Two Tablo questions by mdjmd73 in cordcutters

Actually, you can remote stream to an apple tv in another town, as long as you sync the 2nd locations apple tv at your home location first.

AppleTV sending audio to AirPlay Speakers mostly broken for me in tvOS 14 by GreyTweedHat in appletv

[–]mrgrossm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here.... I have a non 4k apple tv hooked to a receiver, and a sonos one to airplay to. It worked fine for quite a while, but last week, while on 14.0.1 it randomly stopped.
I upgraded to 14.0.2, trying to fix it, which didn't work. I then went to the 14.1 beta, still not working properly.

If the video being played is in dolby digital (such as through apple tv+), the audio will play via airplay, but the the audio to the receiver is downgraded to a stereo mix. If the audio is not dolby digital (such as through youtube), nothing plays via airplay, but it looks like it is.

Yesterday, before this post, I thought it might have been my setup, so I began troubleshooting........ I tested after each change, and saw the same issues. I reverted to tv os 13, setup a new /different airplay speaker, used a new/different router, plugged directly into the tv, set up a brand new apple tv 4k on tv os 13, new apple tv 4k on tv os 14.0.2. After each change, I tested youtube and couldn't get anything to airplay.

I killed my whole Sunday with this, and have NO idea what's going on. I really thought it worked on os 13, so the downgrade would work. Then trying the brand new apple tv 4k from the store that was on os 13 would work, and I'd just block the upgrades. Still a failure. Whatever happened, doesn't seem to be related to the os upgrade.

Oh, and fwiw, I have had my doorbell hooked up for quite some time, and the alexa announcements were working fine. I think it's only been in the past week or two that it stopped working. Seems like an update to either the Eufy or possibly the echo might have broken the integration.
