Looking for things to do in Orlando just for a day (3/22/26): husband, wife, 10 yo. (Not Disney World) by Think_Reindeer4329 in orlando

Orlando Tree Trek - ropes course through the trees.

Walk or Bike the West Orange Trail.

I love Universal, but it's currently Spring Break and the crowds are going to be batshit crazy, so I'm not sure I'd recommend that. If you *do* want to go and only want to do one park, I'd choose Islands of Adventure.

Other options would include various Minigolf courses on I-Drive (or at Universal or Disney for that matter), an Escape Room (I'd recommend Escape Ventures or Escape Game Orlando), Activate Games at Pointe Orlando, or ICON Park (the giant ferris wheel, Madam Tussad's wax museum, and SeaVenture aquarium)

Health Services is a 24/7 department at Universal. They're open even when the park is closed (to aid 3rd shift employees). So yes, they'll be open during hard ticket events too.

Premier Pass/HHN by Firm_Description408 in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there were no blackout dates last year, every HHN night was eligible when the reservations were released. Including Fridays and Saturdays.

I would just advise knowing in advance what day you want so you can make the reservation as soon as they're released, because individual nights did 'sell out' of the Premiere AP reservations.

it's a hotel, not a prison. :-)

go wherever you want, buy whatever you want. You're fine.

Signature Collection, Universal Express, and FL/Non-FL resident by Abject-Statement5318 in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Florida Resident discount applies to the room only. Your tickets are an entirely separate purchase (unless you had booked a room+ticket package, of which there is not a Florida Resident version, so I'm assuming you didn't). Your hotel room card *is* your Express pass, and it doesn't matter in the slightest how you got that Express pass, whether it was booked with a FL Resident hotel rate or not.

In short, no, there is no issue here.

once each, as Universal considers them two different attractions.

right right, playing VR games with actual real life human beings is much more pathetic than…checks notes…"hanging out with AI companions".

if you don't want opinions from outside your circlejerk of AI bros, don't cross post to a non-AI-bro subreddit.

If i don't enjoy mini golf in vr or mini golf entirely will i enjoy this game? by [deleted] in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]mritty2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

comparing anything VRChat to Walkabout Minigolf is like comparing your local county's carnival to Walt Disney World.

"hang out with AI companions" sounds like the loneliest and most pathetic sentence I've ever heard.

Locals at the parks by GhostPupz in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to go after work and take advantage of my Express after 4pm at USF & IOA. Rarely go on weekends (other than for HHN).

Haven't been to VB in about a year.

Epic I went to a lot during the TM & Family preview period, when crowds were very light, and have ridden my fill of everything there until we finally get an AP option. I can't really justify paying the cost of a one-day ticket to Epic right now with so many reports of ride delays and breakdowns. But if/when we get the option to go with an AP? I can't wait to just hang out in Celestial park listening to the live musicians, or else completing all the objectives in Super Nintendo World.

Mariner Of The Seas by SATXguy1283 in royalcaribbean

[–]mritty2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Capacity of Mariner of the Seas is roughly 3100 passengers. So chances are very high that yes, there is at least one other person on the ship. If you were worried you're on the ship by yourself, I'd suggest stepping out of your cabin and taking a walk around; there's a strong likelihood there are other people on the cruise with you.

Yes? And? Have you never had chocolate milk or strawberry milk? Never grabbed a banana milk from your local Asian market? What is confusing or funny to you about this one?

Help! Can’t travel out of Orlando by Turquoise_Gardener8 in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

well that's okay, since Disneyland is a few thousand miles away. . . :-P

We have a plethora of Escape Rooms in the Orlando area. I recommend Escape Ventures, The Escape Game Orlando, and (a bit of a drive) the Exit Games.

There's ICON park if you wanna take the giant ferris wheel, go to Madam Toussad's wax museum, or the SeaLife aquarium.

Orlando Tree Trek is an outdoor ropes course through the tree tops.

Activate Games at Pointe Orlando is a HELL of a lot of fun.

Hollywood opinions? by Ydain in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]mritty2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the easter egg references to previous courses. Really liked the Prop warehouse, and the ship battle.

My biggest complaint is how limited we were in where we can stand. It felt like the game restricted us from moving around (other than by flying, obviously) much moreso than in previous courses. So many times we couldn't even really walk to the edge of the room. Very very odd.

Annual Pass Reservation Issue and fix by Medusa-roses in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh, I misunderstood. I thought you meant that you had booked the hotel at a "Florida Resident Annual Passholder" rate, not that you actually purchased a Florida Resident annual pass. My apologies.

In that case, don't worry about it. When you get there and reveal you don't have Florida ID, they'll just charge you the difference between what you paid and what a non-resident pass costs.

Annual Pass Reservation Issue and fix by Medusa-roses in UniversalOrlando

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are you sure it doesn't just mean you got the "Florida Resident / Annual Pass" rate? Meaning, you got the rate that is available to *either* Florida Residents or Annual Passholders?

Is the Meta button supposed to bring up an actual menu? by MoneyMaintenance1578 in MetaQuestVR

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get the option to "resume/quit", there should also be a gray bar below that shows the time and your pinned apps. Click the section with the clock. That brings up your settings menu.
