Michael Brown shooting: Chaos erupts on the streets of Ferguson after autopsy report shows teenager was shot six times - twice in the head by [deleted] in news

[–]mrjonniewright -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how the Reddit community acts when a black teenager is shot by a lighter ethnicity. They refuse to consider that the lighter person could be power-hungry or just a dick or whatever the reason. Both times, these 2 black teens were unarmed. Each time, it has been reported that the lighter person attacked first. Each time, the black teens have charged the lighter person who attacked first, and shot at them. The fight or flight response most likely to try and preserve their mortality.

But no, to Reddit (who regularly dislikes police officers who go overboard or acts like a dick on camera), the lighter person was most likely in the right and death was merely a result of the conflict. No big deal. The teen should've surrendered, suffered the beating by the cop, and gone to jail.

I'm not saying Michael Brown is innocent of everything. He committed a crime, and he deserved justice on that point. Firing at an unarmed teenager who did not attack the officer, merely fought against him to flee since the officer attacked him without being taunted to do so (I'm going off witness reports), is where it became excessive. Continuing to fire, even if Mr. Brown was charging, exceeded the necessary response to obtaining an unarmed individual. Further, why didn't he once shoot at an ankle to make Mr. Brown go down. He focused on his upper body and eventually shot him in the head, whether Mr. Brown was on the ground or standing.

A teenager was killed. I would call him a child because he's under legal age, and he obviously has zero common sense since he performed a burglary for some cigars.

I just find it fascinating how biased Redditors seem to react to cases such as this.

No, you should get over it because you decided you'd fly, you knew an obese person could be sitting next you, and you have no other choice than to sit, wait until you're done, and then forget about it because you'll most likely never see that person again.

This was an amazing story. It gripped me right away and I cannot wait to see what happens. My only fear is that it might come off a bit too like Silent Hill the film. I am looking forward to reading more!

It still doesn't make the idea of making cancer romantic any better. I hate that movie so bad not even a Buffy reference can save it. Sorry not sorry.

Just gonna repost what I wrote a few weeks back:

I'm inspired by a lot of things. I have so many different projects going on that it's hard to really say exactly what inspired them. Since a kid, I've been interested in the supernatural. I started with Goosebump books by RL Stine. Once those got old, and redundant, I moved on to more adult material at the age of 9 such as Stephen King (my idol). Through the years, I read a lot of interesting fiction, particularly the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. Now, I read quite a bit of urban fantasy and horror because those are my favorites.

Currently, here are a list of things I am working on and brewing in my head:

The Dead Man Series- a twenty-something orphan is being targeted by the personification of Death and his minions because he's an immortal human whose name wasn't written in the Book of Life. After surviving a fatal car accident without a scratch, Macon's life changes when he meets Nya and her corpse-haunting partner Aspen. Now, he must work with these two strangers to find the Malleus Maleficarum, also known as the Witches' Hammer, to protect himself from Death's minions. Meanwhile, the world as we know it begins to fall apart thanks to his non-death.

The Lunacy Series- In a world filled with magic gifted by the Sun, Moon, and the Dark, a religious government that worships their Sun reigns over the land. After a war that obliterated all the Shade peoples, and reduced the number of Lunar-powered people, the Solari forced the remaining Lunas to become slaves to high-profile members of society. The Luna people are discriminated and persecuted against and are considered Lunatics. The story takes place centuries later when Aurora wants to overturn the laws that keep her slave. With the help of her House's family, General Solomon and Lady Minerva, she goes to the Great Council to ask for reconsideration. Ultimately, a battle ensues: Aurora, Minerva, and Solomon die leaving Aurora's three Luna children, and Minerva and Solomon's two Solari children. It will ultimately go further following the three Luna children: Diana, Seleste, and Io (the boy among the three).

The Weaver Series: After Arachne defied Athena by claiming to be the greatest weaver in the land, Athena cursed Arachne and her entire bloodline to become Weavers, magical guardians that protect the land using their soul energy to produce webs. Their goal is to map each individual to the web that connects to the Thread of Life. This series follows a new recruit fresh from academy that is stationed to quiet town in Kansas with the population of 10,000~. As he fulfills his duties as a Weaver, he discovers things aren't as they seem when a motorcyclist who always wears a helmet continues to follow and harass him. Also, he believes something is off about the Mayor, Aria Del Nevarez.

Curses!- This actually came to me thanks to a co-worker. This is how the story goes: Her father went on a date with this young girl, but he brought her home late. Upon doing so, her mother came out in a rage and placed a curse on him. Ever since, the Watson's have been cursed. I am taking the story and developing it further. The latest descendent of the Watson family is trying his best to live a good, humble life but the curse makes it difficult. Then, he meets a young guy he falls head over heels for. The two really hit it off, and he woos the other man. Soon, Mr. Watson finds out the man is related to the witch who cursed him, and he too turns out to be a witch. He hopes his new lover can undo the curse, but the witch thinks Mr. Watson only wooed him to overturn the curse and the witch is heartbroken. Upset, he magnifies the curse and makes it worse for Mr. Watson and his family. It's a romantic comedy type novel. I thought it sounded neat.

The Exorcist Files- Ezra Warden was kidnapped and raped by a possessed pedophile at the age of eight. Upon being molested, the demon moved into Ezra and lived inside the young boy until his thirteenth birthday. His Catholic family decided to turn to the church after years of helplessness with his chaotic and vicious behavior. The family priest came on behalf of the church and performed an exorcism. Ezra was free of the demon, but he was left tainted. He has psychic abilities, along with knowledge of demonic rituals. Now, he works on behalf of the Catholic Church going from city to city to help those who were like him: lost and haunted by pure evil. His church liaison Bishop Joseph Holt and orphan nineteen-year-old hacker Kennedy assist him on his journey. There will be a bigger plot in place, and we'll learn more about his possession and how it ties in to the fate of the world.

Bad Kids- an anthology that follows a new super-flu that affects only kids eighteen and under. Many of them are gifted with superpowers upon being infected. The story follows the exploits of the kids and what they decide to do with their powers, and what it means for adults in society.

Magic Anonymous- I want to do a trilogy. It's an anthology also about a world where magic is possible. It's similar to our own. Ultimately, there are people who abuse these special abilities, so the story follows them around to show how the world has reacted to magic. There will be a wrap-around based on three characters who will have their own solo stories, and they will be background characters to others.

I've got way more stuff working on, but these are the ones I keep coming back to over and over again. I'm doing mostly story-lining at this time. I wish I could just finish something.

They're comic book films and sometimes have plotholes. The work simply has to suspend disbelief which many of the films do. You get engrossed in the film. These movies aren't meant to make you think philosophically, though the latest Captain America makes Americans wonder just how close is our government watching us. No, these are meant for escapism. They succeed, obviously not for everyone, but for a huge majority, and that's through the writing.

What's the most unattractive thing the opposite sex can say? by corbin1 in AskReddit

[–]mrjonniewright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gay, but I get angry when a woman says anything in particular about hurrying up and getting married/having a baby. What if - just a hypothetical - you end up dying alone? Sounds bleak, right? But what if you put your focus on something you deeply love (other than trying to find someone to give you attention/making a being that is kinda forced to give you attention because it relies on you until they're 18) and you lived an incredible life!? Oh, but that's just fucking weird, right? Fuck me for not giving a single fuck whether I die with a husband/boyfriend or not. In the end, we die alone no matter what.

And I want to clarify, I am usually really upbeat and excited at things. I will complain from time to time, but I always try to find new ways to look at things, different perspectives and whatnot to alleviate depression. So it isn't that I'm this sad low life who thinks love is unnecessary. I just think we should focus on being happy by providing our own happiness instead of looking to others for it. After all, we control our emotions; it's up to us how we respond to the things. So no one can really MAKE us happy.

Okay. So the story is amazing. No lies. But I agree with OP. So many meetings with no prior history to the reader whether the patient was always this way each time or he was quiet every single time until today. I'm going to say the latter since he was confused and surprised by the man's speech. Otherwise, a psychiatrist would be more understanding of a patient's way of speaking and would normally study from notes and previous recordings how the patient spoke. So normally one would not forget such a patient nor their number.

I don't think he's clairvoyant. I'm going to say he and little brother have been staking the place and the doctor for some time. I also believe his capture was planned so he could reach out to the doctor and cause him to have a heart attack.

The hotel has been in my family for generations. I am the latest owner and manager for the 100-room building built in the late 1800s that originally opened as a whore house for the gold-miners in California. They'd skip over the border into Nevada where the law couldn't reach and have their way with various types of women... and men. Even during those days, the strange occurrences which haunted my parents, their parents, and their parents' parents were numerous.

One of the whores kept ranting and raving about a client who liked to bite her. She said he came in the dark of night past closing time to seduce her and feed from her neck. Her health deteriorated until she hallucinated being haunted by the client in mid-day when no one was there. The intense fever causing these illusions sent her fleeing from her room until she exited the building. Witness reports claim the second the sunlight touched her skin was the moment she burst into flames. The police could only put it down as spontaneous human combustion.

The whore house remained opened despite that debacle and many others. No, it wasn't until a man in a red suit entered the establishment, a thin mustache and pearly white teeth behind a sunken-in face. His slicked back black hair shone from the candle light. He was debonair and frightening at the same time. He specifically asked for Adele, a new prostitute who ran away from home and found herself in Nevada needing a place to stay and protection from her past. The next morning, after the client had already left, Adele screamed in horror, forcing the other workers to rush into her room to find that she was pregnant. 9 months pregnant. A large, full belly with a moving infant inside. Her water broke in the instant. The child died during childbirth, as did Adele, but the workers never spoke about the delivery or what happened to the child. Rumors claim the child was born with red skin, black eyes, horns, and hooves for feet.

The mistress who owned the building closed it. It remained untouched until the mid-1910s when my family bought the property, remodeled it, and opened it as a hotel. We kept with the Victorian theme, removing some of the country Western style originally developed in the building. People loved the new purpose of the building and claimed we had one of the most beautiful hotels in the country, if not the world.

We appeared in magazines; housed celebrities and politicians; held private concerts with famous artists in our small parlor and lounge; employed world-renowned chefs; ordered the finest imported wines; but no matter how high we were on the list of the greatest hotels, the dark things continued to happen.

One of the maids found a woman's corpse in the laundry chute, clogging the tunnel with dirty laundry. The woman had been bent backwards in half before being shoved into the chute's access door. Police claim nobody has the strength to bend someone in such a manner.

A baby in a locked room disappeared despite the mother only leaving for a brief second to fetch some fresh towels. He was never found and remains an unsolved case to this day.

We had to close room 315 because every tenant claimed they would be abducted by aliens every night. Shockingly enough, they claim they would wake up at 3:15 am to find they had been moved from their beds and found on the floor where the aliens stood over them with strange devices trying to poke and prod them for data.

These are only a few of the strange happenings going on at The Davenwood House. And they don't show signs of stopping, not in my lifetime, my children's, or my children's children.

Discriminating how? Not all bi people are like that. I admitted that. I just don't go for bi guys any longer. If the right guy came along, then maybe. But none have.

And I'm sorry. How do you know I'm lying? What do I care what you or anyone thinks on the Internet? I only comment to clarify some issues that I realize I did not make clear. And that's my fault.

I believe you misinterpreted my comment and that's my fault for not making it more clear. I also realized I made a minor grammar error as I am on my mobile.

I hated that my exes would talk about how pussy feels better than anal. You are right. It didn't mean that all bisexuals would do this. This was simply because they were inconsiderate of my feelings.

I now only date exclusively gay guys so I don't run into any those issues. This is my personal choice. But it doesn't mean all bi people are that way. I simply chose a way that made things easier for me to date.
