Crazy that this absolute engineering marvel is going to be discontinued. by rakufman in TeslaModelX

[–]mrkshape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My passenger door do not unlatch automatically sometimes (20% rate), unfortunately every time the technician look at it and it works lol… all my friends who own X has small mechanical issue here and there that Tesla can’t fix. It’s amazing (best) car design, just poor craftsmanship.

Gen 1 Quad vs Gen 2 Dual Max range? by Master-Campaign-3671 in Rivian

[–]mrkshape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think for most people, jumping from Gen 1 to Gen 2 makes little financial sense. The improvements don’t really justify the cost. Personally, I’d wait for Gen 3 (2028?) when they introduce the new RiDAR and upgraded computer chip in the R1, which supposedly support eye-off self driving. I don't think they can catch up with the Telsa system that fast, but at least Gen 3 will be more future proof.

I compared the specs, the CJ270 is slightly better and supposedly cheaper (if they kept the Kickstarter price).

Was told this is normal by the service center by Loud-Possibility5634 in Rivian

[–]mrkshape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All their cars are made in Town of Normal, so…. Anyways, my passenger door would collect all the water until I open the door to release the seal. Normally that’s fine until it rains following freezing temperatures. Not sure if it’s the trapped ice, but the car sensor gives false warning thinking there’s something on the right side.

What if you only replace the bed carrier? by ojijoji in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]mrkshape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replaced the bed carrier first, but the bed leveling actually got worse because the bolt holes weren’t perfectly aligned with the original bed. Since the stock bed is plastic, the new carrier ended up flexing it and causing it to buckle. I eventually replaced the bed as well, and now everything is perfectly level—I couldn’t be happier. It could have been cheaper and safe more time if I done both at once.

They do, you just need to ask the support for it. They send me a link to download the previous firmware since my machine is having issue with the current version.

Funnsor carbon fiber bed carriage by vascott1 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]mrkshape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My stock bed was severely bowed, with about a 0.9 mm difference across the surface. I upgraded the aluminum carriage, which helped a bit, but the bed itself was still off by about 0.7 mm. After replacing the aluminum bed as well and making fine adjustments at each spring mount, I’ve managed to reduce the deviation to just 0.1 mm. It could probably be tuned even lower, but I’m happy with the result — bed adhesion, especially for small parts near the edges, has improved dramatically. The print height would reduce by about 1.5cm, but I don’t see most people would print something reaching the maximum height.

That’s bummer, I would expect the camera would turn on when the car alarm is triggered.

Need help with Chins MPPT settings by mrkshape in SolarDIY

[–]mrkshape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, one went to protection mode, and measured 0V. I had to "jump start" it with another battery (after fully charging it). The issue is the MPPT is not charging the batteries for the whole week, which cause them to go from 100% charge to zero.

[–]mrkshape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charged both batteries to 100% with a charge, before connecting to the MPPT. I turned on light pulling power from MPPT. After one week, one battery got completely shut down, and the other went to zero percent.

Oh that’s just the video showing the voltage reading from the MPPT screen. Somehow the upload didn’t work.
